Top Ten Anime Characters of 2016
Now that 2016 has ended, let's take a look at the best characters in anime that premiered in the year of 2016. In this list only the anime characters that were introduced in the year of 2016 will be allowed, which means there will be no characters from ongoing anime unless they were introduced in the year of 2016 (which means no Naruto, Luffy, Goku, etc. as they were introduced as anime characters before 2016). As for anime that haven't aired in 2016, no characters of those anime are eligible for this list (which means no Sword Art Online, Attack On Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, etc.).Even excluding my love of comic relief characters, Dazai is an amazingly-written character. He has fitting/believable relationships with the other characters, his backstory is intriguing, & his odd obsession with suicide attempts gives him a unique characteristic over other characters in any series I've seen. If I ever say otherwise about him, chances are that "uso dakedo."
No wonder he is first
This guy is a badass villain that serves to make an already great anime to something even better.
Yes Danganronpa 3 is divided into two arcs in which one is a sequel (Future Arc) and another is a prequel (Despair Arc) to the 2013 anime Danganronpa the Animation. However, Seiko was introduced in Danganronpa 3, the 2016 anime, so she qualifies.
I have yet to watch Dimension W, but I can agree that Kyouma Mabuchi is a pretty cool guy.
He's easy to relate to, and a pretty realistic character. And I'm glad that the writers didn't make him cliché and makes Yuri strive to practice and do the best he can.
Generic sports anime protagonist with nothing to offer.
If it wasn't for this guy, then the prequel arc would have turned the second season of Bungou Stray Dogs a disaster. But thankfully, he is what made the prequel arc really good.
Qualidea Code was a pretty decent anime. And although it had a good cast of characters, Asuha Chigusa was the best character in the series.
Mind you but Tokyo Ghoul premiered in 2014, not 2016. Don't get me wrong. Kaneki is great but he just shouldn't be in this list for not debuting in 2016.
He is an amazing character who kept on fighting, even when he was in great pain.
Even if Big Order will suck, at least I can admire this guy's god-like powers.
Oh, the nuisance who is only there for annoyance in this list? Yikes!
So now parody anime characters are in this list (KonoSuba is meant to be a parody of the isekai genre)? Not that I'm mad but parody anime characters like him being in this list seems rather awkward.
Best and funniest character of 2016.
