Top Ten Reasons Why Paper Mario the Thousand-Year Door Is Not a Bad Game
People only seem to like her when she's voice dby Leslie Swan, even when she's still kidnapped! She sucks either way so if Super Mario 64 doesn't suck (which it doesn't) then neither does Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door!
The dialogue in the game is text, therefore the only voice you'll hear is the occasional quick word or two from her.
Her voice is sounds the same to me in super paper Mario and Mario and luigi: partners in time!
I used to do that just because the other RPGs that are older than Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story were better to me. And yes, it was in a truly pathetic manner. Just because these these other Mario RPGs are not as great as the others does not mean that I should not like it. Most Mario RPGs (especially SMRPG) > Modern Mario Sports
The newest Paper Mario games don't really focus on story that much but The Thousand Year Door and Super have awesome unique stories and not just Bowser kidnaps Peach.
The story is awesome although I prefer the story of Super Paper Mario more
Oh my goodness, I love this game. Before haters start yelling, I LOVE Super Paper Mario as well, and I love its story, gameplay, bosses, music, etc. However, it makes me sad when people try to be rebellious and different by trashing this game in favor of Super Paper Mario, since I love both so much, and I don't want to disagree with people who love Super Paper Mario, and that game is underrated. HOWEVER, Paper Mario TTYD is my favorite game of all time! It is very highly rated among people who play these games, but there are many people who don't think about it since they only play the core "main" games. THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC AND EVEN IF IT WAS THE HIGHEST RATED GAME ON THE PLANET IT WOULDN'T BE A BAD THING BECAUSE IT WOULD STILL DESERVE IT! This game is so emotional with a great story, the characters are memorable, the bosses are fun, the music is fantastic, the worlds and locations are unique, and the flaws are minimal! There don't seem to be many legitimate complaints I hear about this game. People do have preferences, and that's fine, but I feel like things like "Peach's voice is stupid" or "I don't like the Gamecube" just seems so random and not enough to get in the way of all the good things this game has to offer. So if you genuinely have big preferences or opinions that get in the way of your enjoyment, I guess that's fine, but please try to appreciate the greatness that is Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
Also, I generally love all Mario games, so if you're mad or something for some reason that I didn't mention how great some game is, chances are I love it anyway.
IGN took points off of this and Super Paper Mario literally for the reason "there's too much reading". I mean, come on, it's a Mario game. Sometimes the game's a little dark, but if you think this is the darkest Mario game, you probably haven't played Super Paper Mario or Partners in Time.
Really the dialogue is easy to read I don't understand how the dialogue could POSSIBLY be confusing!
So thus, we are stupid. But the dialogue is uninteresting like this game and lacks a mix of RPG.

I disagree with this. The battle system feels clunky and I don't really like how it's made, while it's balanced, I found the battle system in the Mario & Luigi games to be more fun overall
It is a lot like the original Paper Mario's battle system.
That bull princess of the Mushroom Kingdom (I so prefer Sarasa Land) did not let herself get kidnapped, thanks to that horrible Sir Grodus and the X-Nauts that kidnapped her and later, Princess Peach would not escape.. These characters are a reason why Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is a bad video game. And Super Mario 64 for the N64 is the best video game ever, HeavyDonkeyKong.

Sometimes? This game always changes things up and keeps things interesting! If you don't like it, that's fine, but give it a chance and recognize that it does new things and has incredible concepts in terms of gameplay, story, and chapter concepts!
Both PM: TTYD and PM have earned a 9.75. Super Paper Mario deserves that score. PM: TTYD and PM are both good games, though. See that? Because of some weird character designs from the less major characters than are not the cliche Mario enemies as well as being at least a little sucky and easily confused with the gameplay, this masterpiece where you save the universe within the universe is actually not perfect.
Aside from a little too much backtracking and an overuse of lengthy texts, this game is amazoing!

This game has a GREAT soundtrack, as do all of the Mario RPG's! I guess it comes down to preference, but there are so many good songs...they chose quality AND quantity!
Not as good as that in all the other Mario RPGs (except for in the last three Mario RPGs released currently).
The whole Paper Mario series has FANTASTIC music.
Some of my favorite characters are Goombella, Vivian, Koops, Baby Yoshi, Bobbery, Punio, Doopliss, Bowser, Kammy, Crump, Puni Elder, and Flavio. Also Peach is a good character in this game. She was the best in Super Paper Mario but she's not bad in this game.
I didn't care for flurrie or princess peach, but the rest of the playable characters were great! I wouldn't have minded a lack of Penniongton, though.

People hating this for the graphics doesn't make sense, since it was made in 2004. Sure, the graphics weren't THAT great, but graphics in general don't make or break a game. Everyone hating this game all seem to like the N64 so much, and those graphics were worse, despite having on par quality games. Sure, this game isn't that much of an IMPROVEMENT, but that doesn't mean BAD. There's a difference, as the graphics were just Paper Mario 64 but a bit better since it is newer. And also, think about the rest of the game, give it a chance. The Paper Mario series was our only chance for actual originality and amazingness outside of normal Mario, and now even that is being taken away with the newest Paper Mario games (starting with Sticker Star-I don't HATE it but I do hate what it did to the series as a whole as now that is what Paper Mario is to Nintendo) and now the previous games are all we have left. And if you're not going to appreciate an actually quality game for something as trivial as the GRAPHICS, then that's just stupid. If you don't like the game just due to preference and opinions, that's fine, just respect the others who do like it and try to see if you really don't like it or if you're not giving it a chance and judging it on graphics, which doesn't say anything about how good the gameplay, story, music, or anything else is and which were bad in some of the older games that we love equally.

At least the GameCube is universally known for having fluid controls! If anything, the LJN Video Art deserves to be the most hated console by EVERYONE in the universe.
She's not that bad, and even if she was, it would in no way get in the way of the quality of the actual game. Hate the game if you hate it, just at least have a legitimate reason that actually significantly affects your enjoyment of it.

This may be becauuse this was my first true rpg, but rogueport's theme is extremely nostalgic for me! Also, I don't see anything racist or industrial revolution about it, I don't understand why you're saying that...
My only real complaint about rogueport is that the sidequests all seemed to simple. If Nintendo makes another paper Mario like the first two (which I would love, Paper Mario and Paper Mario the thousand year door ar emy favorite Mario rpgs ever) then I hope they would make better sidequests.
Oh, And let's not forget there was a crime scene in the Japanese version with a chalk outline of a Toad with dried blood around it. it scared me that when I was replaying Sticker Star, I thought I saw the same thing happen to Kersti in the alleyway between the 2 Houses. But it was only a dream.
Rogueport is overrated and Princess Peach forced Mario to go there. Imagine if she did that again in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.
