Top 10 Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure Rides
Best rides from Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida.Located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter section of Islands of Adventure, this thrilling adventure may not be a coaster, but it catapults you into the Harry Potter universe with all of its elements: the 3-D, the Hogwarts castle, the line before the ride in which you explore the castle, all the beloved characters like Harry and Dumbledore, all the feared characters like Dementors and giant Spiders, and more. Aside from this, it has won multiple awards such as best new ride and best dark ride. It is worth it going to Islands of Adventure just to ride this work of art.
This beast can be found in the Marvel Super Hero Island section of Islands of Adventure. The fastest coaster of either park, the Hulk launches you at 67 MPH, 110 ft. into the air, into 7 gut-wrenching inversions, roaring over the park on its rampage. It's easily the best roller coaster in the resort and was a close second behind Forbidden Journey for best ride. It's smooth, it's fast, it's thrilling, and you can hear it roar from outside the park. The Hulk is truly Hulk of a roller coaster.
Proof that universal uses marvel better the disney
Found in the Marvel Super Hero Island section of Islands of Adventure along with the Hulk, Spidey revolutionized dark rides with its fantastic elements. It is not only a ride for all ages, but it is also a ride that all ages will love. Spiderman fans will be overjoyed to ride this 3-D adventure into the world of Spiderman as their favorite hero battles some of his deadliest foes such as Doc Oc and Green Goblin. It's fast and thrilling, but not too much so where it will scare small children. It is a great ride even for me, a coaster lover, and will most likely become one of your favorites too.
This indoor roller coaster is the best ride in the first park, Universal Studios Florida. It may not be the tallest or fastest, but it's top speed of 45 MPH in the dark feels much faster. Revenge of the Mummy uses special effects such as fire and bugs to its advantage, and uses the Mummy atmosphere to scare riders until the coaster portion of the ride arrives. Then, your soul belongs to the Mummy as you launch into the ride's coaster portion. The combination of Dark-Ride themes, frightening elements, and roller coaster track makes this ride an instant classic.
Located in the Universal Studios Park, the Rockit towers over the park at 167 ft. What makes this roller coaster unique are a few things: it has a non-inverted loop (a loop where you technically don't go upside down), a straight-up, 90° lift hill, and, most importantly, you can choose your own music. Literally, there is a screen in front of you where you can select your favorite jam to rock out to while on the ride. Then your off, with just a lap bar for protection, on this 65 MPH coaster for the ages.
My two favorite things: Music, and thrill rides. Rip Ride Rocket has both of that at once. You can even choose you own music! If the selection of music is not big enough, no problem. there's a cheat that has a HUGE selection of music. It has Eminem, U2, Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Metallica, Judas Priest, Rage Against the Machine, the Rolling Stones, and many... many more!
This log-flume ride is located in the Toon Lagoon section of Islands of Adventure and is another ride for all ages (unless of course your terrified of drops). Themed around a hero of The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, Dudley Do-Right, this water ride tells the story of Dudley trying to save his girl Nell from the evil Snidely. However, the plot is not the best part about this ride. All the teaser-drops and dips leading up to the big plunge, and then the 75-foot plunge itself, make this log flume a great one. Also, for me personally, the drop felt bigger than Jurassic Park's drop even though it is 10 feet shorter. If your a fan of log flumes, then hop on this adventure.
A unique ride with interactive special effects and sudden drops on the roller coaster. The carry swivels and turns to show different aspects of the scenes too. There's fire and water splashes and some dark tunnels that you go through. definitely one of the best in the whole 2 parks!
I think this ride needs to be higher in the list its AWESOME
Just straight up amazing! Did 4 times in a row couldn't help it
Just because your ride wasn't on here doesn't mean it isn't great. This is just my opinion. Some honorable mentions are:
Popeye & Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges (Islands of Adventure)
Doctor Doom's Fearfall (Islands of Adventure)
Men In Black: Alien Attack (Universal Studios)
Shrek 4-D (Universal Studios)
E.T. Adventure (Universal Studios)
There are many more great attractions that I may not have mentioned. I also have not gotten to ride Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, though I am sure it is a great ride. The arrival of Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts this summer will probably shake up this list as well. Now, let's get down to business.
The Simpsons Ride, located in Universal Studios, brings the beloved characters from the classic show The Simpsons to life. It is simply a virtual simulation, but the theme is what makes this ride great. It's just as hilarious as the show, and packs in excitement and peril too as The Simpsons visit Krustyland while trying to avoid a psychotic killer. The Simpsons Ride is a classic, and it finishes this Top 10 list strong.
The first water ride on our list, Jurassic Park River Adventure is the centerpiece of the Jurassic Park section of Islands of Adventure. Starting out as a peaceful river tour in which guests view the gentle giants of prehistoric times, things soon take a turn when your boat enters a raptor containment area. The dinosaurs truly seem real, creating an unforgettable experience (and a terrifying one) when you see raptors on either side of you making your way up to the climactic drop. Spoiler Alert: A T-Rex is waiting for you at the top of the 85-foot plunge. Jurassic Park turns the movie into a real life experience, and will be any Dinosaur lover's favorite.
The Newcomers
This is hands down a ride unlike any other.
It literally lived up to the hype.
It launches you twice and the feeling never lets go and you go through a 150+ foot "top hat" in seconds and go through a weird heartline roll "dubbed the mosasaurus roll" which literally gives you the feeling of flying and getting tossed. It's actually said to be no less scary than being in a building that's falling or blown away by a big tornado (no Wizard of Oz pun intended).
The concept of getting chased by velociraptors is unbelievable and shows us Universal really made something that could give everyone a heart attack.
Don't ride if you're prone to any medical conditions or other stuff. It really packs a punch and that's saying something.
This ride is getting tracked, by disney and their wack, their carryin a sack, so they can kidnap, they want that money racked, so they gonna get this ride attacked, by the men in black, they really want snack, so they can run this track, they're collecting some nick-nacks, this is the end of my rap
The newest ride at the resort, and located in Universal Studios, this ride is very similar to Spiderman except that it has a Transformers theme. However, it is a great ride that takes you through the battles between Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, and all your favorite transformers. The 3-D is truly spectacular, and it is a decently long ride, allowing for Transformers fans to witness the fights for a longer period of time. It is a must do dark ride.
Totally fantastic ride! the harry potter team will be disappointed that they couldn't beat it!
Not really a ride, just a way to get from islands of adventure to universal studios Florida and vice versa
Formerly Dueling Dragons, this ride's cue and theme received a full makeover with the arrival of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This double roller coaster could be considered 2 different rides. The red one, or the Chinese Fireball, is 125 ft. tall, goes 60 MPH over 5 inversions, and has a 115 ft. first drop. Meanwhile, the blue one, or the Hungarian Horntail, is also 125 ft. tall with 5 inversions, but goes 55 MPH with a 95 ft. first drop. These dueling coasters are just a step away from Forbidden Journey, and are some truly fantastic coasters. Personally, Chinese Fireball was my favorite, but you've got to ride both to see which is yours!
E.T. was and amazing movie and ride!
My almost three year old, 30 pound, 36 inch tall granddaughter rode this twice, hands in the air and grinning ear to ear! This was the only ride that she insisted on riding twice!
I liked this ride, alien attack was a waste of time. Those things were faker than the dinosaurs in the river adventer.
Waste of time. Can't believe it's on the list
