Top Ten Crimes Committed by the Pokemon Trainer in Pokemon Games

Another silly list idea I have. When I say the Pokemon Trainer in Pokemon games, I basically mean whichever trainer you have in any of the games, which of course is a character you name and control. And we will be looking at the things that the character can do that can questionably be criminal acts!
The Top Ten
1 Illegal Dogfighting

Or as it would be known in the Pokemon universe, Pokemon-fighting or Poke-fighting. Then again, where are the Officer Jenny's when you need them? On the routes in the game, the trainer runs into other trainers, and whether or not the trainer wants to battle, SOMEONE is willing to bring out their own Pokemon to battle the main trainer. But who could potentially be watching this happen and thinking that it could be a questionable act? While trainer battles are definitely a thing in the games, imagine how they would be perceived in real life.

2 Breaking and Entering

Yes, the main character in Pokemon can enter pretty much every home in towns and just sort of mingle with those inside. The NPCs barely bat an eyelash to this and offer him advice. No way that would work in real life.

3 Thievery

And to add insult to the breaking and entering, of course, there's the possibility of stealing any items there. Well, it's a little more complex than that. Most of the time, households don't have items, but whoever left something outside for safekeeping could potentially realize "Hey! Someone took my precious Ultra Ball! " or whichever item. Now, this usually doesn't pertain to Pokemon, as you can't catch another trainer's Pokemon in-game, but in Celadon City you can just take a Poke Ball with an Eevee inside. So that counts too.

4 Animal Cruelty

Or Pokemon cruelty I guess. This is actually different than the "illegal dogfighting" item, and I shall offer an example. The Safari Zone allows players to throw things that AREN'T Safari Balls, like bait or perhaps ROCKS. Yes, rocks. That's definitely cruelty right there.

5 Littering

The idea of simply tossing an item is prevalent in most RPGs, and Pokemon isn't different. It's more practical to rush back to the last town you were in and sell it, but tossing it? Think of the Pokemon! Littering is bad and can hurt the fauna.

6 Underage Gambling

Pretty much every Pokemon Trainer in the main series is under 18. Yet they have Game Corners, which are basically casinos, in every game, where you can win some unique prizes. Yet it didn't bother the staff that they could give the teenage protagonists special money to do some gambling in?

7 Illegal Poaching

Again, the Pokemon Trainer is real lucky there's no real nature-loving cops or regulations, because he/she can go right into the tall grass, fight a wild Pokemon, possibly with no intent to actually catch it (that probably isn't a crime, since catching a Pokemon is akin to taming a wild animal), and simply beat it up to make it faint. That's pretty similar to illegal poaching, and the worst thing is that this only gives experience. Pokemon Trainers just do it for that and not for hides or whatever.

8 Animal Neglect

This one could be hard to judge, but then again, a Pokemon Trainer will often catch quite a lot of Pokemon. However, how many are ACTUALLY trained? Many of them just sit on the PC and aren't being used, it's surprising that there's some form of nourishment while being on the PC or just gameplay mechanics in full gear. To further add to neglect, it's also possible to leave a Pokemon at a "day care center" and actually forget to bring it home. The day care person is also someone who just runs the day care, you don't even know what goes on behind the scenes apart from your Pokemon gaining levels, somehow.

9 Possession of Illegal Substances

Do you ever wonder why Rare Candies are not ever sold in stores? These things fully increase a Pokemon by one level. Having multiple Rare Candies will make your Pokemon levels skyrocket and overpower your Pokemon, and would break the game if there was EVER a store that sold them. In other words, a Rare Candy is akin to an illegal drug in the Pokemon universe, while beneficial to the Pokemon, it's something that would actually be frowned upon assuming that the NPCs in the game had a bit more common sense.

10 Environment Damage

This is an odd one, but it ties in to the usage of HMs. For example, Cut can cut down certain trees as well as patches of tall grass. This of course, ruins the environment for the Pokemon who thrive in them. Rock Smash, another HM, removes rocks which may or may not have an impact. Whirlpool, an HM in Gen-2 games, changes whirlpool patterns in some places, while Flash completely brightens a cave, bad for nocturnal Pokemon. These are pretty good examples of what this is talking about.
