Iloilo City being the home of the Country's World-class festivals, can also boast PARAW REGATTA! It is the oldest sailing festival of the country. BEST TOURISM EVENT for SPORTS! The most unique festival in the country... Inspiration of Boracay's Sand sculpting because of "Hulma Balas" which is a competion among Ilonggo artists! A festival full of activities and life!
SINULOG FESTIVAL AS BEST FESTIVAL IN THE Philippines? Noo!
Paraw Regatta is the symbol of Ilonggos' resiliency amidst calamities and challenges. Indeed, Iloilo has underwent so many trials but she remains dignified and respected. Just like Paraw Regatta, the country's oldest sailing festival, Ilonggos year after year showcases spectacular sailing boats with magnificent paintings of Ilonggo Artists. It is both a display of Ilonggo Culture and tradition. This is one proof that navigation for the Ilonggos has been an old practice. In fact, the festival is done nearby the Country's FIRST MARITIME SCHOOL in Villa Arevalo, Iloilo City. Could this be one proof that Ilonggos dominated the number of Filipino Saefarers?

The Ibalong Festival is a non-religious festival in Legazpi City, Albay, Philippines and is held in August. The festival celebrates the epic story of the town of Ibalong Bicolano with three legendary heroes, namely Baltog, Handyong, Bantong and other ancient heroes. People parade in the streets wearing masks and costumes to imitate the appearances of the heroes and the villains, portraying the classic battles that made their way into the history of Bicol. The Ibalong Festival aims to express warmth and goodwill to all people; visitors and tourists are encouraged to celebrate with the Bicolanos.V 1 Comment
