Top 10 Houston Texans Players of the 2017-2018 Season

The Texans are going to be a tough team to score against defensively now that J.J Watt is coming back are we due to see a historical defense? Can the offense really be a shocker by putting a decent amount of points?
The Top Ten
1 J. J. Watt Justin James "J. J." Watt is an American football defensive end for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Texans with the 11th pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and played college football at Wisconsin. ...read more.

Nobody has been so dominant, and intense then that man J.J Watt as Vince McMahon once said ''that man is simply awesome.'' I mean the guy can beat you in multiple ways you would have to be lucky not to feel a lot of pain after getting mauled by Watt after being hit so much.

2 Whitney Mercilus Whitney Mercilus is a former American football outside linebacker who played 10 seasons in the National Football League. He played college football for the University of Illinois and was recognized as a unanimous All-American.

This is a great step up right here, an unknown linebacker came outta no where, and had to be the leader of Houston when Watt was down. Mercilus is also underrated as well since he has not been to any pro bowl means he should be more recognized in my eyes.

3 Lamar Miller Lamar Miller is an American football running back for the Houston Texans of the National Football League.

Did fairly well with Houston his first year will that carry on for more years I say so since that offensive line at times might not be great enough, but just good enough for Lamar to take off.

4 Deandre Hopkins DeAndre Rashaun Hopkins, also known as "Nuk," is an American football wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. Hopkins was drafted 27th overall to the Houston Texans in 2013.

He was still pretty disappointing when it came to the less amount of touchdown he received thanks to Osweiler not being of good help. With Savage, or Watson at QB that could turn around real quick I have faith in Mr. ''Nuk'' Hopkins to rebound.

5 Jadeveon Clowney

He struggled pretty badly his first two years, but overtime Clowney has shown he can be that caliber #1 pick from 2014. Especially when the team needed guys to step up from J.J Watt's unexpected injury that kept him sidelines last year entirely.

6 Kareem Jackson

Solid corner, but again his almost at the age of corner's where most them are not as good as they use to be so we will see what happens overtime for now this right since his playing better than Joseph at the moment.

Best corner on the Texans in the past 3 years

7 Brian Cushing Brian Cushing is an American football inside linebacker for the Houston Texans of the National Football League.

Cushing is one those that you need to be very cautions with because yes he can be great when healthy, but when his not totally useless. I mean the decrease in sacks have significantly since getting hurt half the time that must be a big factor in his playing ability as a linebacker, but you know you could bounce right back right?

8 Deshaun Watson

It looks like there going to start off with Tom Savage at quarterback, but Texans fans need to be patience with Watson give him time because you do not know what to expect, and honestly he is your guy out of the 3 that were drafted.

9 Johnathan Joseph Johnathan Lee Joseph is an American football cornerback for the Houston Texans of the National Football League.

His age is starting to show, but his still a tough corner to mess with being the old veteran who was with the Bengals for a bit before being with Houston mostly. Yeah no interception is a bummer, but he can at least disrupt the play if needed.

10 Shane Lechler

Solid punter with a long career with Oakland, and now finishing his career in Houston, among the likes of Ray Guy another great Raider ironically it seems like no other team has had greater luck then that team, and Houston is fortunate to have a hall of fame caliber Punter with them right now.

The Contenders
11 DeForest Buckner
12 Tom Savage
