Top 10 Mario Characters with the Kindest Fanbases
There's tons of popular (and not so popular) Mario characters with diverse fanbases, but some tend to be more aggressive than others while others are much more passive. This is based on my observations but I believe these are the kindest or least conflictive of them.
Birdo is a dinosaur that is well known for her (or his) confused Gender. It was originally stated that Birdo was a male who believed he was a female, but this was changed in later games. Birdo is commonly referred to as a girl, however, they are in a relationship with Yoshi. Birdo first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2 as an enemy towards the player. She is now included in many spinoff titles of the Mario franchise as a playable character, including the Mario Kart series and the Mario Party series. Poor Birdo is perhaps the biggest underdog in the Mario franchise. Seriously! She's is targeted with hate (and sometimes transphobia) by so many but mainly picked on by Yoshi fans. Despite this her fans are very friendly people and I rarely see them lash out against Yoshi.
They're definitely the ones who see the most positives out of all of them.
Mario, originally named Jumpman, is the main character of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, created by the creative director and video game designer at Nintendo of Japan, Shigeru Miyamoto. Mario has appeared in almost every Mario game, including games in spin-off series as a playable character, with few exceptions including New Super Luigi U, Luigi's Mansion games, Yoshi's Island games, and similar counterparts. He is the most iconic character in video game history and is Nintendo's unofficial mascot. His franchise has grown to be the most successful video game franchise of all time. Poor Mario. It's sad how the Main character of his own GAME and Nintendo itself has been put down by Idiotic Luigi fans. All because of a certain God awful THEORY made by a horrible YouTuber who somehow slides under the MAT with this garbage theory that has tons of obvious flaws that people ignore. Mario deserves a PAT on the back for helping save the video game industry but unfortunately he has been treated worse than Satan and Hitler combined. Thanks MatPat
Considering that he's the mascot and most important character it would be obvious that he'd have the cockiest fanbase. Strangely enough he doesn't, at least not relatively compared to other characters. I've seen that he's most commonly targeted by Luigi's. There are tons and tons of videos belittling the man or portraying him in a negative light. Nonetheless I don't see his fans acting immature very often.

Donkey Kong is an arcade game released by Nintendo in 1981. It is an early example of the platform game genre, as the gameplay focuses on maneuvering the main character across a series of platforms while dodging and jumping over obstacles. To be honest it's odd that he is one of the biggest icons in gaming and yet has a relatively pacifist fanbase. He probably has one of the most mature fanbases, but unlike Birdo I don't really see him getting picked on by anyone.

Wario is a character in Nintendo's Mario series who was originally designed as an antagonist to Mario. His motives are driven by greed and he will take the side of whoever will give him the most pay. Although he may seem like just a mean man with no heart, he does have a very tragic past. Wario is an anti-hero and has two series of his own. Although in the Mario series he's constantly grouped with Waluigi to mirror Mario & Luigi. So even though he's a rival to Mario himself I hardly see any clash between their fans. Waluigi on the other hand, is more infamous and constantly pitted against several other characters.

Pauline, also known as Daniella Verducci, is the original damsel-in-distress whom Mario must rescue from the eponymous ape in the original Donkey Kong. Pauline is the first female in the Mario franchise but she's mostly been obscure, appearing in far fewer games compared to the other girls. Despite this Peach fans, and recently Daisy fans, tend to pick on her a lot. However she has a very calm and growing fanbase.

Her fans don’t attack other fanbases, the other fanbases attack her. Retaliation is not the same as attacking.
Toad, known in Japan as Kinopio, is a major character in the Mario Bros. franchise. He assists Princess Peach in the Mushroom Kingdom and will do whatever it takes to help her. He first appeared in the classic game, Super Mario Bros. after being kidnapped by Bowser and his minions. Since then he has been a reappearing character in the Mario Bros. series as a playable character in the New Super Mario Bros. series, Super Mario 3D World, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Super Mario Run, and many other games. He also appears as playable character in many Mario-spinoff games including the Mario Kart series, Mario Party games, Mario and Sonic Olympic Games, Mario Sports Games, and many more. ...read more. Toad is one of the most recognizable Mario characters and usually labeled as one of the "cutest" usually pitted against Yoshi. However unlike the dinosaur his fanbase seems far less aggressive.
Bowser is the main antagonist of the Mario Bros. Franchise. From kidnapping Princess Peach to simply destroying a fun game between Mario and Friends in the Mario Party spinoff series, this king of the Koopas has set up a certain hatred towards himself amongst the large cast of Mario Characters. He first appeared in the 1985 popular videogame, Super Mario Bros., in which he was responsible for kidnapping Princess Toadstool (more commonly known as Princess Peach), which was released in Arcades and on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Videogame System. I see the Bowser fanbase more focused on shipping him with other characters than I do on fanwars against other characters. For a villain he sure has a neutral fanbase. Weird.
In the Super Mario series, King Boo is the leader of all the Boos and a major antagonist. He is an ally of King Bowser. He is depicted as a large white Boo with a crown similar to that of Princess Peach.
In the Luigi's Mansion series, King Boo serves as the main antagonist and Luigi's arch-nemesis. He is depicted as gargantuan, even larger than his Super Mario counterpart, with darker eyes, a purple tongue and pupils, and a golden crown with a corrupted power-enhancing jewel. He is considered to be one of the series' most evil villains. What is it with villains having a far better behaving fanbase? He is Luigi's antagonist but their fanbases are reversed in behavior it seems. Luigi easily has one of the most aggressive fanbases I've seen in the Mario series, on the contrary King Boo's is quiet.
Honey Queen (better known in Super Mario Galaxy as Queen Bee) is the queen of all the honeybees who is a very large bee and always talks nosism. She appears in both of the Super Mario Galaxy games, where she rules over all the honeybees in three different galaxies, and in Mario Kart 7 where she appears as a heavyweight unlockable driver. She's kind of faded away but I remember she used to get picked on a lot. She has a small fanbase but they're rather sweet like honey.
Waluigi is a lanky self-centered, brusque young lad as he is considered evil and the main rival of Luigi. Waluigi is shown causing local havoc in most games he appears in alongside his partner Wario. Waluigi is not instinctively evil or the antagonist (not counting DDR), as a matter of fact, he shows great compassion for his fellow peers, typically for characters Daisy and Wario. Waluigi is also described as lonely, rejected, sad, or depressed due to his relationship with the Super Smash Bros. franchise, and people outside of Nintendo continually rejecting him. He might have a half of the fanbase which is annoying, but that is 20%, but 70% of the fanbase is also friendly, they might as well defend the fact Waluigi barely being used, but at least they don't rage and also at least they don't blame Rosalina for Waluigi barely being used.
Fawful, known in Japan as Gerakobits, is a fictional character appearing in the Mario & Luigi series of role-playing video games developed by AlphaDream. He's made his mark in the Mario series as one of the more remarkable villains but he's doesn't appear very often so the discussion about him is usually about how cool or memorable he is. He isn't compared against other characters often or picked on by other fanbases.
Bowser Jr., or sometimes simply Jr., is a video game character who appears in Nintendo's Mario franchise as the secondary antagonist. He is the youngest son of the series' primary antagonist, Bowser. I'm sure that he was formerly 5th place on the most annoying character list and now he's 9th! He's not annoying! He's very cute!
From what I have seen, Bowser Jr. fans aren't as aggressive as Koopaling fans. I wonder why. Hmm...
Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur who appears in video games published by Nintendo. Often appearing as a sidekick and helper to Mario, Yoshi is most known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island and the Super Mario franchises.
Koopa Troopas, or just simply Koopas, known in Japan as Nokonoko, are a fictional race of turtle-like creatures from the Mario series, as well as its sister Yoshi series. They most often appear as common ground enemies. Although he has a small fanbase they are very neutral
Shy Guys are an enemy from the Mario and Yoshi series that have been seen in many games, and they are masked because of their shyness. A quietly growing fanbase that spends most of the time using him in Mario kart or other spinoff games. I've never seen any arguments. They typically agree that he's overrated in Mario kart
Dry Bowser is the fossilized version of the main antagonist of the Mario Bros. Franchise, Bowser. He first appeared in New Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo DS after Bowser had been dumped into the lava and was left with his skeleton. Since then, Dry Bowser has appeared as a villain in games like Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros games, and similar titles. He also appears in some Mario Spinoff series, including Mario Kart. Most people I know who like him are genuinely nice and friendly.

She is usually the character who needs saved in most Mario Games, but also has appeared as a playable character in the Main-Series Mario Games, including Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Run, and even starred in her own game, Super Princess Peach for the Nintendo DS. She has appeared in many spinoff series, too, including Mario and Sonic Olympic Games, the Mario Kart series, the Mario Party series, Mario Sports Games, the Super Smash Bros. Series, and many more. Rosalina, known as Rosetta in Japan, is a major character in the Mario Franchise created by Nintendo. She first appeared in the 2007 Mario Game, Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii and later returned for the game's sequel in 2010. Since then, she has been featured in many main-series Mario Games and many spinoffs. She has appeared as a playable character in Super Mario 3D World for the Nintendo Wii U in 2013 and is a playable character in the Mario Kart series and Mario Party series. She also has come into Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS as a part of the large character roster.
