Residents are forced to buy parking stickers just to park their cars in the street, and this includes homeowners who already pay thousands in property taxes. Visitors must purchase parking permits for visits as short as 2 hours... Downtown parking is difficult and more strictly enforced by the parking authority than that of Pyongyang, North Korea... The crime rate is high outside of the downtown area. Rush hour traffic is nightmarish... The residents range from twenty-something Yuppies downtown to the ghetto-dwellers of the Heights and Greenpoint, but both groups are throughly imbued with "Jersey Attitude" (read: they're obnoxious). Run far, run fast!
