I'm a non-American, but from an outsider's perspective, I'd say this is the most divisive issue because there are even some on the left who are pro-life.
I thought abortion would be an ethical issue, but nope. It's somehow a political issue.
Whether or not abortion should be legal.
Whether or not to grant foreign citizens the right to migrate to our country and the treatment of illegal immigrants.
Has to be handled.
I really don't know why this is a political issue. It really shouldn't be, and people in the LGBT community should just be able to live their lives normally like straight people without worrying about politicians magically taking it away every four years or so.
Should not even divide politics.
Whether or not Christian values and ideologies should influence lawmaking.
Easy answer: Religion should not influence politics.
Why are we even debating about this? The planet is dying, and during this time we could spend trying to delay the inevitable, we're fighting about whether we want to take action or not.
Do people really still debate this?
Whether or not climate change is real.
Whether or not the "Gender Pay Gap" is real and, if yes, should it exist.
Why is this a division? It's pretty simple what to do about it.
Who trusted these radical politicians to deal with these issues? I want to know.
Whether or not private citizens can own and carry guns.
Whether or not the vast availability of porn has a bad influence on people.
Whether or not recreational drug usage should be legal, specifically "marijuana."
Whether or not the "Death Penalty" should be implemented for criminals.
