What a wonderful woman. She had so much love to give and cared deeply for those living in poverty. I only hope that one day I could have just a fraction of the love in my heart that Mother Teresa had for the world. She is a true inspiration.
Her relevance today, especially in overcoming the temptations we all face, far outweighs that of bygone eras we cannot relate to.

Saint Catherine of Siena
Saint Teresa, Agnes, and Lucila. Siena is among them as one of the toughest women in religion, by the looks of it. They can really keep things interesting. It's a real change of heart in how to view such figures. They can be feared or admired, and also judged by demeanor and appearance in their pictograms.
Interesting stuff. These women seem sane compared with other figures, which is sad when you consider how often people are viewed based on desire. Nero and Caligula might win or lose on a whim. Their interesting victories, paired with cruel behavior at home, are something else worth mentioning.
Anyway, I'm voting for Catherine on this one. She's a good Saint indeed. Religion runs in my family. I'm Orthodox Romanian and a brother in a small family that went west but kept home ties, somewhat, while trying to explore more of the planet.
So I see history as something important to learn from, to say the least. Currency and coins, in a similar fashion. But yeah, good going to Saint Siena for doing what she ought to in the Church, I guess.
-
