Top Ten Most Wanted Pokemon Newcomers for Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

I know Greninja, Charizard, Lucario, and Pikachu are the only Pokemon that are scheduled to be playable characters in the new Super Smash Bros., but this is a list of Pokemon that I would enjoy seeing in the new game as characters.

The Top Ten
  1. Sceptile

Sceptile, known in Japan as Jukain, is a Grass-type Pokémon. It evolves from Grovyle and is the final form of Treecko, which is one of the starter Pokémon from the third-generation games. Sceptile also has a Mega Evolution and appears in video games, anime, and trading cards.

Sceptile is by far the strongest and most popular Grass-type starter. We've already got Greninja and Charizard confirmed for Smash, and they're arguably also the strongest and most popular starters of their own types.

Having Sceptile in Super Smash Bros. would be the perfect addition, balancing the Water/Fire rivalry between Greninja and Charizard. The best Pokémon of their respective gens: Gen 1, Gen 3, and Gen 6. Who wouldn't want that?

We need another generation in Super Smash Bros., and we also need a Grass-type starter. Sceptile would fill both blanks and look good doing it.

Give him a Mega Evolution for a Final Smash, and try using Leaf Blade and other varied attacks for specials, smashes, and standards. It will be awesome to have Sceptile fighting alongside all those other characters. Who's with me here?

  2. Mewtwo

Mewtwo is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon. Designed by Ken Sugimori, it first appeared in Pokémon Red and Blue in 1996.

Created by Dr. Fuji through gene splicing to clone Mew, Mewtwo is known in game lore as one of the most powerful Pokémon. In later games, it can undergo Mega Evolution into... read more

Jigglypuff has no relevance anymore. She never really did in the first place in the games. They added her because she appeared often in the anime, and now they refuse to take her out because "she was one of the original 12."

Take out Jigglypuff and put in Mewtwo. It would especially make sense with Mega Mewtwo now (the Pokémon with the highest base stat total in the game).

I don't know why Mewtwo wasn't in Brawl. A Legendary should definitely be added, and Mewtwo is the most logical choice.

He has been confirmed for DLC! I would've preferred him to be available when the game released, but at least he is in the game!

  3. Magneton

Magneton, known in Japan as Rarecoil, evolves from Magnemite starting at level 30. It can later evolve into Magnezone when leveled up in a special magnetic field.

Magneton is an Electric and Steel-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It consists of three Magnemite units joined together, and... read more

  4. Tyranitar

Tyranitar, known in Japan as Bangiras, is a dual-type Rock and Dark Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It evolves from Pupitar starting at level 55, which itself evolves from Larvitar at level 30. Tyranitar is known for its immense physical strength and powerful offensive capabilities.

A slower, tougher Pokémon that can use Rock, Ground, and Dark-type moves would make Tyranitar so unique for the game! Moves like Stone Edge, Earthquake, Rock Blast (or Rock Slide), Dark Pulse, or Hyper Beam would create an all-new experience.

A final smash could even be a combination of Sandstorm and its Mega Evolution. Tyranitar and Sceptile are the best candidates (as well as Mewtwo), as they're from generations not yet fully represented.

Tyranitar would be the first pseudo-legendary to be a playable character, and a pseudo-legendary fighter is long overdue. Plus, Tyranitar would be the best choice.

  5. Blaziken

Blaziken, known in Japan as Bashāmo, was introduced in the third generation of games, beginning with Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. It is the final evolved form of Torchic and is recognized for its powerful Fire and Fighting-type moves. Blaziken also has a Mega Evolution that enhances its abilities in battle... read more

I love all Pokémon, and while I'm not entirely a Blaziken fan, this Pokémon is really cool. It's clear that this awesome fan-favorite fire type could be a challenging opponent, ally, or just fun to play as.

I'm totally sure that Blaziken is a Pokémon anyone would like to play in Smash. Yes, I do want Sceptile in the game because of the Fire/Water/Grass starter trio, and we already have Charizard as the fire type, but Blaziken could still be an exception to the long line of Pokémon in this game.

Unlike every other Pokémon on this list (Magneton, really?), Blaziken is actually recognizable and has a chance in Smash Bros.

Plus, how the hell would Magneton even fight anyway? It has no hands! What would its animation be when it's buried? What about its item-holding animations?

  6. Scizor

Scizor, known in Japan as Hassam, is a dual-type Bug and Steel Pokémon. It evolves from Scyther when traded while holding a Metal Coat. Scizor was first introduced in the Generation II games, Pokémon Gold and Silver, released in 1999.

We have yet to have a decent Gen II representative in Smash Bros., and Scizor fits the bill. It's cool, sleek, and if you have any interest in seeing Scizor in Smash, look no further than this Brawl hack:

    Nintendo, do this already!

Seems random, but if you think about it, Scizor could be a really good fit and is also pretty popular.

  7. Genesect

Genesect, known in Japan by the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species. It was first introduced in Generation V, specifically in Pokémon Black and White. Genesect is a Bug and Steel-type Pokémon, notable for being a modified ancient Pokémon revived and enhanced by Team Plasma.

Genesect would be a good fighter because of the gun on its head. Except, just like Zoroark, Generation Five probably wouldn't have a representative.

  8. Zoroark

Zoroark is a Dark-type Pokémon that evolves from Zorua starting at level 30. It was first introduced in Generation V. Zoroark is known for its Illusion ability, which allows it to appear as another Pokémon during battle, creating deceptive and strategic advantages.

Zoroark is on this list for the same reason as Pangoro. The only reason it is this far down is because I wouldn't expect a Generation Five Pokémon to be added.

He would fit in well, and it is definitely better than "Genesect." His moveset could be half Lucario, half Meta Knight.

  9. Pangoro

Pangoro is a dual-type Fighting/Dark Pokémon introduced in the Pokémon franchise's sixth generation. It evolves from Pancham starting at level 32, but only if the player has a Dark-type Pokémon in their party. Pangoro is known for its tough appearance, combat prowess, and sense of justice, often portrayed... read more

The only reason I would like to see Pangoro is because he is kind of the Sixth Generation version of Lucario. To be honest, I think he should replace Lucario.

If any Pokémon should replace Greninja (Greninja NEEDS to be replaced. He was a terrible addition), it's Pangoro.

My favorite Gen 6 Pokémon by a long shot. The time for Gen 6 has already passed, though, so oh well.

  10. Eevee

Eevee, known in Japan as Eievui, was first introduced in Pokémon Red and Blue. It is known as the Evolution Pokémon and has more evolutionary forms than any other species. Eevee can evolve into Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon depending on factors such as elemental... read more

I really like the concept of having Eevee and its Eeveelutions as playable characters. My idea is that you would start out with Eevee, and you could unlock different items for it to hold (Water Stone, Moss Rock, Fairy-type TM) that would make Eevee evolve in battle.

The Eeveelution would depend on the item it's holding.

The best and cutest Pokémon. Tied with Charizard for best Gen 1 Pokémon. It could use moves like Tackle, Swift, Double-Edge for a counter, and Final Smash could be Eevium Z.

Eevee could have alternate skins as its evolutions, kind of like Bowser Jr.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Mega Charizard X

Mega Charizard X is one of the two Mega Evolutions of Charizard introduced in Pokémon X and Y. Unlike its counterpart Mega Charizard Y, this evolution changes Charizard's type to Fire and Dragon. Mega Charizard X is known for its black and blue coloration and its increased physical attack strength.

  13. ?

    Golem

  14. The Contenders
  15. Rayquaza

Rayquaza (pronounced "ray-quay-zah") is a Dragon/Flying-type Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. It serves as the mascot for the game Pokémon Emerald. Rayquaza can Mega Evolve into Mega Rayquaza if it knows the move Dragon Ascent and is not holding a Z-Crystal. According... read more

  16. Hawlucha

Hawlucha, known in Japan as Luchabull, was introduced in Generation VI and is a dual-type Fighting/Flying Pokémon. It is notable for its wrestling-inspired design and the unique move Flying Press, which deals both Fighting- and Flying-type damage. Hawlucha's Speed and Attack stats make it a favorite... read more

Hawlucha would be a cool Pokémon to have because it is the only Fighting and Flying-type Pokémon. It would make a great fighter and introduce a lot of new moves. Also, its jump would be a flying move.

Hawlucha was already not included in Pokkén, whereas Mewtwo, Tyranitar, and Sceptile were. Seriously, it's a Fighting-type Pokémon... it belongs in a fighting game!

I'm a big fan of Hawlucha. I think they should take Jigglypuff out.

  17. Nosepass

Nosepass, known in Japan by the same name, is a Rock-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It evolves into Probopass when leveled up in a magnetic field, such as Mt. Coronet or Chargestone Cave. Nosepass is inspired by the Moai statues of Easter Island.

  18. Remoraid

  19. Mega Lucario

  20. Excadrill

  21. Deoxys

Deoxys, known in Japan by the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon that first became available through special events in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. It has four different forms: Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed. Each form alters Deoxys's stats and appearance, making it a uniquely adaptable Pokémon.

Cool as hell, but it won't happen, though.

  22. Gallade

Gallade, known in Japan as Erureido, is a dual-type Psychic and Fighting Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It evolves from a male Kirlia when exposed to a Dawn Stone. Gallade is admired for its elegant, sword-like arms and its knight-like personality. It can also Mega Evolve into Mega Gallade when... read more

Gallade for the win! It would make sense, since he's part Fighting type. He could also have some projectile Psychic attacks.

  23. Mantyke

  24. Mudkip

Mudkip, known in Japan as Mizugorou, is a Water-type starter Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It first appeared in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Mudkip evolves into Marshtomp at level 16, and Marshtomp then evolves into Swampert at level 36.

Along with Venusaur and Beautifly, I think he should appear as one of May's three Pokemon in Super Smash Bros. Omega.

The most popular Generation 3 starter. He would also have the most unique moveset out of himself, Torchic, and Treecko. Plus, he's adorable.

  25. Jigglypuff

Jigglypuff, known in Japan as Purin, is a round, pink character recognized for its ability to sing lullabies that put others to sleep. Jigglypuff has appeared in various games, anime episodes, and Super Smash Bros. titles.

Jigglypuff may not be the best Smash Bros. fighter, but it is one of the two Pokémon that were in the very first version, and it has sentimental value to many Smash Bros. fans.

  26. Decidueye

Decidueye, known in Japan as Junaiper, is the final evolution of Rowlet and was introduced in Generation VII. It is a dual-type Grass and Ghost Pokémon. Decidueye first appeared in Pokémon Sun and Moon and is known for its archer-like design and stealthy behavior.

I don't think Sceptile's got as good of a chance now that Decidueye exists. I'd love to see this guy, because he's my second favorite Pokémon, and there's no way Vaporeon is getting into any Smash game outside of Super Smash Land.

This Pokémon could actually have a unique moveset. It can fly, shoot arrows, and it's a Grass type. Other popular characters don't get in because they don't have unique traits or aren't relevant enough to the game.

IMAGINE! It could have arrow-based moves, it's a Grass-type starter, and it can fly, sort of like Charizard. It could even have a Z-move as its Final Smash and more! This would be perfect, honestly!

  27. Voltorb

Voltorb is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in the Pokémon franchise's first generation. Resembling a Poké Ball, Voltorb often surprises trainers by self-destructing in battles. It is known for its unpredictability and is often found in power plants and other industrial locations.

  28. Palkia

Palkia, known in Japan by the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species that debuted in the 2006 games Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It represents space and serves as the mascot for Pokémon Pearl. Palkia is part of the creation trio with Dialga and Giratina and is associated with spatial manipulation.

  29. Blastoise

Blastoise, known in Japan as Kamex, is a Water-type Pokémon and the final evolution of Squirtle. It evolves from Wartortle and is known for the powerful water cannons mounted on its shell. Blastoise is capable of shooting water with enough force to punch holes through steel.
