Top Ten Teams that Could Pull Upsets in March Madness
March Madness is coming up soon, so I got together a list of potential bracket busters in the tourney. This list applies to teams that could upset others if they were to make the tournament.Stephen F. Austin already beat number 1 duke earlier in the season; beating another team as, or not as good should be easier than for most teams.
East Tennessee State has only lost 4 games this season, one of which was a close struggle between them and Kansas. They also beat LSU, which should be the same caliber of team they will play in the tourney.
After upsetting Mississippi State last year in the tournament, it is expected that once again, they will not go down without a hell of a fight
Belmont has a hell of a team around them, filling out every position well. With their win over Murray State, they gained an automatic bid into the tourney, meaning they have a chance to knock off a good team.
New Mexico State has been one of the more under reported teams in the country, as they’ve won 19 straight and are perfect in conference. They are looking to keep up momentum with a first round upset.
After beating San Diego State, an underrated Utah State has a lot of momentum moving into the tournament. This could pave the way for an upset.
Representing the University of Akron in Ohio, the Zips participate in the MAC. Known for their men's soccer program, they have also been competitive in basketball. Their colors are blue and gold. Akron has jumped out to the front of the MAC, and has the depth and offense to defeat a weak defensive team. They remind me of Wofford last year.
Yale always seems to be in the mix for upsetting someone; they always seem to come close, but never get it done. Is this the year they break through?
Remember the scare they gave Florida State last year? Much of their roster remains the same, and their experience may help them pull it off this year.
Bradley nearly pulled an upset last year against MSU, and there is nothing stopping them from possibly pulling one this year.
