Most Underrated Female Tennis Players

I would say that Evonne was under-rated precisely because her career overlapped with that of Chris Evert who dominated her and was world number 1. Being consistently defeated by the great Chris Evert dented her reputation. Unfortunate for Evonne.

Not sure if I hold say Evonne was under rated. If anything because of her likability, graceful game and winning Wimbledon after becoming a mom, I think she is rated very high, despite playing second fiddle to Chris Evert through most of her career.

Evonne was a graceful, elegant player. I think she had the misfortune of playing in the same era as a dominant toughie named Chris Evert. She spent a signifying part of her career as number 2 behind Evert against whom she played some good matches but never really managed to seriously threaten in the 70’s?
