Top Ten YouTubers Who've Declined In Quality the Most

Youtube personalities who have seen a noticeable drop in quality on their videos over the years. There are many reasons why this happens, such as massive popularity, becoming greedy for money, a change in tone, disinterest, etc.

I'm sure there are others that have done worse, but these choices are to add the list.

The Top Ten

1 Markiplier Mark Edward Fischbach (born June 28, 1989), known online as Markiplier, is an American YouTube personality. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, he began his career in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is currently based in Los Angeles, California.

I used to love his opinions and insight. Now you press play and it's just loud, annoying, silly, stupid behavior and it's really disappointing to see. I can't watch a SINGLE one of his new videos without him screaming and acting dumb. It's really really far from why I started watching him back when he was around 1 million subscribers. If I could talk to him right now I'd say "Mark, please, just relax. Play the game, give your opinions and commentary. You don't have to be entertaining while you play the game, you playing it is the entertainment. It's like you're forcing yourself and it's really hard to watch."

Mark has been doing bigger things doing what he orignally setout to do act in stff he wrights andcts in mostly related to his alteregos some not so much he likes traveling with his girlfriend his dogs and more he tries to keep in contat with his fans by going to places like cons and video con and the PAX event so he can hear and see a sector of fans to thank him that is why he yells because he so thankful

I started watching Mark since he had only 1 million subscribers and used to be a hardcore Markiplier fan because of his insightful playthoughs of indie or horror games. Currently, his choice of games have declined significantly in quality and he mostly plays repeating group games. Now Mark doesn't seem to let his insightful mind shine through as much as before.

I remember watching him regularly when he only had little over 300,000 subscribers to little over a year ago. I really liked him, his reactions, and his character even if he was pushing his reactions a bit. To be honest, the Cyndago affair was the final nail in the coffin for him it seemed in getting enthusiastic for his videos. Around 2013-14 it was clear something had changed and got progressively worse until the Cyndago affair happened and now Markiplier is little more then another carbon copy of Pewdiepie with a very clear lack of emotion or care for truly entertaining.

2 The Nostalgia Critic

Among other things, I hate his sketches which pad the review time length, reiterate jokes we have heard a mere 1 second ago (matrix 2) and waste time. Literally, I watched the hocus pocus review, expecting to get an actual review instead of this malformed garbage of a sketch. Also, I've noticed he does this more now, but stop pointing out stuff that looks racist or sexist. Its irritating. Also, In the sailor moon review, when he goes into the legal code for minors in Japan, give me a break! I don't care about the age of a cartoon character.

Most of his newer reviews have skits that are longer, less funny, and usually don't contribute to his criticism. His choices of movies to review are mostly newer ones from the past ten years, so Nostalgia Critic is really just in name only. - tropicreset

I honestly hate him. He himself doesn't know what's wrong with him.

He Sucks Now
I Started To Hate Him When He Said He Hated Over The Hedge
How Dare He Insult One Of My Favorite Movies
But I Still Check His Good New Videos And Old Videos Once In Awhile

I haven't seen him as much, but a lot of fans have complained about less funny videos. - tropicreset

He believe he's a boxer and a rapper... What a mess...

4 Angry Video Game Nerd James Duncan Rolfe is an American actor, comedian, filmmaker, film and video game critic, and internet personality, best known for starring in the web television series The Angry Video Game Nerd, a joint production of Rolfe's Cinemassacre Productions, GameTrailers, and ScrewAttack.

He's clearly running out of classic video games to bash. His choices are more obscure or are newer games, and his jokes seem more rushed and forced than before. - tropicreset

Lost his originality as other YouTubers have started taking over retro videogames both locally and internationally taking his foreign audience and making his niche genre mainstream. Forced to create a new model for his videos, he fusioned the issues of his show with more mainstream presentations by playing with friends which was an empty moment that killed the shows usual content and excluded the audience.. A victim of his own success AVGN mutated the persona of the nerd into the bro.

AVGN really isn't that angry anymore. Whenever I watch a new AVGN episode, I rarely feel like I'm actually watching the Nerd and feel more like I'm watching James himself.

5 PewDiePie Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg (born October 24, 1989), better known by his online alias PewDiePie, is a Swedish web-based comedian video producer, and commentary channel. He is best known for his Let's Play commentaries and Vlogs on YouTube. He is known for being the most subscribed-to YouTuber on the website, more.

There was a time when Felix seemed to enjoy doing YouTube as a career. He posted videos of him playing games, originally starting with horror and eventually branching out to multiplayer games with other YouTube stars. He seemed to genuinely enjoy himself, often resorting to a nervous giggling fit after being jumpscared or creeped out by the atmosphere of a game. When he'd play with other YouTubers (such as Minx, CinnamonToastKen, Cry, and Yamimash), we all loved to watch his interaction and hilarious debacles in GMod games as well as competitive games. He would thank his fans at the end of each video with sincerity and tell them he'd have nothing without them. Now he just seems... winded, as if he's started to resent his job and is just putting out content to try and stay relevant instead of having fun. Many original fans can attest to the drastic change in his videos (in most opinions, a negative change), and long for the return of a true "Bro"; the Bro who was there for us ...more

Videos he now makes are barely over 5 minutes long on a good day. Due to large fanbase he can upload just about anything no matter how short or idiotic and will still be able to get a couple million views. Videos are very short and so intensively editted we don't get to see him being himself playing the game but just the most climactic moments where he screams for a couple minutes.

PewDiePie now only uploads two or three short videos a day. It seems like he understood that he can rack as many views by doing as such as uploading one or two long videos. Less effort, especially in content (one video = two or three games found on the apple store). I used to be a fan, but his decline is evident.

I find that in his older work, his videos consisted of at least organized humor and randomness that had some sense. Nowadays, it's all complete nonsense, with overly vulgar/idiotic themes. I find some videos even disturbing to watch.

6 Smosh Smosh is an American sketch comedy YouTube channel created by Ian Andrew Hecox and Daniel Anthony Padilla. Anthony Padilla created a website called in 2002. He was later joined by his friend Ian Hecox.

They're still kinda funny but most of the time nowadays on friday they'll just give us a boring, phoned in, lazy video, I think this started happening in late 2014 and is now in the 2015 videos, january started off with 3 good videos (if guys had girl problems, smash rap, and time traveling pickup master) but after those videos they started getting really borin and uninventive, I feel like now they care more about the money than the quality of their videos

After about 5 months of not watching them I went back and scrolled through their recent videos and good lord, they are beyond desperate for ideas at this point

Nowadays their videos are just unoriginal and LAZY, smosh is both running out of ideas and running out of funny things to put in videos

I'm still trying to watch their videos every Friday but I think it's time to throw in the towel and give up on these guys

7 Epic Meal Time

It got old in 2011... its 2017

8 SkyDoesMinecraft

I used to love SkyDoesMinecraft, I first found him when I watched his "Herobrine's Mansion" play through, but I feel like he has just slowly lost his enthusiasm, he went through some stuff with his old Fiance "Dawn", and that might have been his decline, and him stopping cussing made me feel like he was restricting himself, he did eventually began cussing again, and that helped him feel a little more real again, but he just isn't the same.

9 Tobuscus

Tried to branch out into different areas (making his own game etc) and never really recovered content wise. Uses his dog as a comedy device too often

Ever since uploading his game he lost content and fans

10 The Annoying Orange

Orange just isn't annoying anymore.

This and Nostalgia Critic should switch places. - kcianciulli

The first seven videos were OK, but now it's just plain awful.

The Contenders

11 SuperMarioLogan Logan Thrityacre, (born in Florida 1994-) also known as SuperMarioLogan, is an American YouTuber and puppeteer, who makes YouTube videos with puppets and plush dolls.

He can still make good videos, he just needs to stop using these lame scenarios

His newer videos aren't always bad, most of the time they're just boring

Let's be real here, his only good videos were Mario and luigi's stupid and dumb adventures.

Logan's like SMG4, they were both funny years before they got truly famous

12 CollegeHumor
13 WatchMojo
14 Jacksepticeye Seán William McLoughlin, born February 7, 1990, better known by his online pseudonym Jacksepticeye, is an Irish YouTube personality, known primarily for his comedic Let's Play series and vlogs. His most popular series include Happy Wheels, Five Nights at Freddy''s and Fortnite.

I still watch him today, and I still enjoy his videos, but I feel like he now is restricting himself due to his bigger community, I remember when he had less than 1 million subscribers, and at that time he could say and do whatever he wants, but he has to be more careful now, and I feel like that is restricting his personality a bit.

When he had less subscribers he was way funnier..
:( - MagmaFox

15 Bethany Mota Bethany Noel Mota is an American video blogger. Starting with her YouTube channel, Macbarbie07, created in 2009, she rose to fame for her haul videos, in which she shows her fashion and style purchases via the internet.
16 Game Grumps

Their Still Good

17 TheMysteriousMrEnter
18 MediocreFilms

He just uploads prank videos now and they're not even that funny. - kcianciulli

19 MatPat The Game Theorists is a YouTube channel that centers around gaming. They have shows such as: Game Theory, The Science of, Sidequesting and Digressing, Crossover, Game Change, Culture Shock and a Brief History. This channel is mainly argued against for their game theory content.

I still watch the occasional game theory now and then, but to be honest, I'm not that interested in the other people on his channel who seem to take up the majority of it now. I also think MatPat has lost his touch somewhat, at least to me he seems a lot less genuine in his videos than he used to, it now feels more to me that he has lost his passion for the topics he covers.

20 ShaneDawson

Do I have to explain?

21 Wafflepwn
22 Todd In The Shadows
23 Adasport
24 Lucas

His channel was good until after he came out gay, which then he started posting randomly crappy videos, like many people nowadays, and nowadays has just over 2M subscribers and his videos barely get above 1 thousand to 1 million viewers.

25 Lisa Schwartz

She used to be good with all the challenges, until she got in a fight with Shane Dawson and broke up, which has lead to her making crappy videos like many other people.

26 TheDiamondMinecart

I loved him back in 2015 when he did minecraft custom mod adventures. Since 2016 he is only making disgusting content. - darthvadern
