Anime abridgments have become an extremely prevalent aspect of the community. In fact, some of the adapted characters in these series have become just as memorable as their abridged counterparts. This list is dedicated to classifying some of the most unique & well-adapted characters in the world of abridged anime.Note: If you add a character, please state a bit about what makes them memorable or unique so people know what sets them apart from the original version.
A true 3-dimensional character, in contrast to the underdeveloped protagonist of the original.
This Kirito is much better than the original. He actually has a personality.
Better than Original himself
Abridged Goku is an idiot. Almost everything he says & does is completely & utterly stupid & shortsighted. And I love it. In fact, if you notice Goku seems dumber in Dragon Ball Super than he did in series prior, it's actually because the popularity of his abridged counterpart influenced the writers of the official series. How awesome is that?
What started as a minor villain who didn't serve much purpose became a fan-favorite parody portrayed as the only character in the series to rival Goku's stupidity. Even death couldn't stop the amazing Nappa as he returned as a ghost to haunt Vegeta for an entire season after his demise & creating a hilarious parody of the "Ghost Busters" theme about himself.
While this version of Killua still has a sadistic nature like most other parodies of the character, the Killua in HA x HA is set apart from the rest for being portrayed as extremely sassy & completely unsubtle of the fact that he's gay. He frequently flirts with Gon, who somehow always manages to misinterpret his innuendos.
Abridged Tatsuya has a severe God complex. No, seriously. He actually thinks he's God. In addition to constantly bragging about himself, he actually tries to get Miyuki to knock off the creepy incest stuff. He fails, but at least he tries.
Sheele was probably the abridged series funniest character for a while. She takes on the role as the badass stoner, having some of the funniest quotes & moments in AGKA. She also regularly forgets where she is, ordering fast food from her teammates in the middle of a briefing because she thinks the base is a McDonalds.
Abridged Kuroko is portrayed as a comically bland individual who enjoys hanging out with Kagami despite their staggering personality differences. He makes no attempts to lie about his history of being the Generation of Miracles' benchwarmer, simply because he doesn't care. When told that he's too vanilla, he responds by saying vanilla is his favorite flavor. It's a unique personality for a protagonist that I just think is really funny to watch play out.
His screen name is permanently stuck as "BallsDeep69" throughout the entire series. It never gets old.
