Top 10 Mario Kart Characters that Disappeared from the Series

This list will feature characters that have at least one appearance in the series but have been (or were) absent for awhile.
The Top Ten
1 Diddy Kong Diddy Kong is a fictional character in the Donkey Kong series of video games, first appearing in the 1994 game Donkey Kong Country.

Diddy was a fan favorite in double dash and Wii. He unfortunately got the short end of the stick in Mario Kart 8 and deluxe. However he has a high chance of coming back

Poor Diddy. He's in Smash, why can't he be in Mario Kart?

Why did he disappear?

2 Birdo

Same situation as Diddy. She was a fan favorite who was sacrificed in Mario Kart 8 and deluxe for baby characters metal characters and koopalings in the Mario Kart 8 and deluxe roster. Her return is very likely

Birdo is my favourite mario character of all time, and then she just dissapeared, I understabbd Mario Kart7, but why didn't she come back to Deluxe? And that clone Dry Bones is still appearing!

Is it because she's technically transgender? I wonder (I think she's awesome)
If you don't believe me look it up

3 Donkey Kong Jr.

He was in Super Mario Kart and was never seen or even mentioned in any game since. A return would be very unlikely at this point

Appeared in one game and that's it

4 Funky Kong Originating from the SNES Donkey Kong Country, in which he is the CEO of Funky's Flights, this Kong absolutely tears up the race track with a massive +4 speed and +3 off-road stat, making him the most popular character in Mario Kart Wii online play.

Well he was obscure so there is that

He only was in Wii and has yet to return. He’s in the Same boat as Petey, his return is unlikely but possible

5 Petey Piranha Petey Piranha is a large mutant of the Piranha Plant in the Super Mario franchise and debuted in Super Mario Sunshine. Since then, he has been a recurring boss in games such as New Super Mario Bros. and has also made appearances in sports and spin-off games.

He was only seen in double dash and was unfortunately canceled from Mario Kart Wii. A return seems unlikely but possible

6 Bowser Jr. Bowser Jr., or sometimes simply Jr., is a video game character who appears in Nintendo's Mario franchise as the secondary antagonist. He is the youngest son of the series' primary antagonist, Bowser.

He was absent in the original Mario Kart 8 which made people mad and rightfully so. He should have been in with the koopalings but thankfully Nintendo put him in deluxe

7 R.O.B.

Such a cool character

8 King Boo In the Super Mario series, King Boo is the leader of all the Boos and a major antagonist. He is an ally of King Bowser. He is depicted as a large white Boo with a crown similar to that of Princess Peach. In the Luigi's Mansion series, King Boo serves as the main antagonist and Luigi's arch-nemesis. He is depicted as gargantuan, even larger than his Super Mario counterpart, with darker eyes, a purple tongue and pupils, and a golden crown with a corrupted power-enhancing jewel. He is considered to be one of the series' most evil villains.

King Boo was absent for awhile but thankfully he returned in deluxe.

9 Dry Bones Dry Bones is a common enemy species in the Super Mario series of video games since „Super Mario Bros. 3“ (1988). After his first debut as a playable character in „Mario Superstar Baseball“ (2005), he became a fan-favorite and also got playable in other spin-offs of the Mario series.

Appeared in DS and Wii and was absent until he returned in Deluxe.

10 Paratroopa Koopa Paratroopas, also known as Sky Troopas, Para-Koopas, or simply Paratroopas, are winged versions of the Koopa Troopa in the Mario franchise. They lose their wings when they are stomped or jumped on in the air, turning them into normal Koopa Troopas.

His only appearance was in double dash and he was unfortunately canceled from Mario Kart Wii.

Eh, I think it's a good thing he never returned, he's just a koopa clone
