NFL Teams with the Most NFL Titles (1920-1969)

The Top Ten
1 Green Bay Packers The Green Bay Packers are a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference North division. The Packers have won 4 Super Bowls and 13 NFL championships.

There's a lot of great things to say about the Packers in the 1960s, but now go back one decade earlier, before Vince Lombardi took over, the Packers we're a different team, a team that rarely won in the 1950s. But that doesn't mean they don't lack star quality. One was Tobin Rote, before Bart Starr came on board, Rote was a good quarterback and during the 1950s he threw a great amount of touchdown passes, only Norm Van Brocklin and Bobby Layne threw more touchdown passes in the 1950s than Rote. In 1956, his 29 combined touchdowns rushing and passing we're the most ever in a 12-game schedule.

Considering how great this team did in the 1960s, we often ask what if the Packers didn't hired Vince Lombardi as its head coach in 1959. He took over a team that was talented in 1958, BUT only one win to show for their efforts. He molded a team and with it in 1959 and into the 1960s, a team that had talent AND the wins and the championships, and forever a team of legend playing in some of the NFL's all-time greatest games. A whole lot of Hall of Famers on those 1960s Packers. A team for all times.

3 New York Giants The New York Giants are a professional American football team located in the New York metropolitan area.

How important we're the Giants and to the eventual future of NFL Films. In 1960, CBS aired a 1-hour TV special called the Violent World of Sam Huff and it featured Huff being wired for sound during a pre season game against the Chicago Bears. His fercious battles in the pit we're heard from coast to coast and made Huff an international celebrity in a sport that was rising in the 1960s.

The New York Giants represented what New York Sports is all about. Before Bill Parcells came along, the Giants houses lots of Hall of Famers and Legends galore. The Giants of the 1950s once had as assistant coaches together Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry. Truly a legendary Team.

hats off to this year's Cleveland Browns, their first winning record in 13 years (2007). It brought to mine back when winning was a habit and so we're the championships. However it was their very first National Football League game on September 16, 1950 that served notice to the sports world that this team is not a bush league team. Facing the reigning two time world champions Philadelphia Eagles, it turned into a shocking no contest, a 35-10 conquest. N F L commissioner Bert Bell once said "the greatest team to ever play the game". The Browns have arrived

6 Philadelphia Eagles The Philadelphia Eagles are a professional football franchise based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Eagles compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference East division.

The Eagles felt the shock of that 1950 opening day loss to the Browns. But to be fair, this team had its share of great players. None more bigger on offense, than running back Steve Van Buren. Buren carried the Eagles to the 1948 and 1949 Championship. The 1948 game was played in a Philadelphia blizzard, It was the first championship game to be televised. The Stadium lights we're on for the entire game. Van Buren went wild even through the snow with 26 carries for 98 yards and scored the only touchdown in the 7-0 Eagles win over the Chicago Cardinals.

7 Baltimore Colts Now defunct, the Baltimore Colts were an NFL team situated in Baltimore, Maryland. Known for their significant role in the 1958 NFL Championship Game, they relocated to Indianapolis in 1984. The Colts originally sported blue and white uniforms.

The Colts we're a downtrotten team for so long, then slowly things began to change and in 1956 added Johnny Unitas to the team and in 3 short seasons, Baltimore was transformed into the Original Title Town U.S.A. long before the Packers made it routine. The Colts kept their winning tradition all the way until 1971. But by then the Colts captured 3 World Championships, a 1968 NFL Championships, and in one 1958 season have 7 members of the Colts franchise in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a true golden era.
