Worst Things About Going Back to School
A lot of Americans in my area visit the Jersey Shore during Labor Day weekend, even though school has already started for them. However, my family (who's Asian) DOES NOT go anywhere for Labor Day weekend after school starts. They want us to study instead of enjoying the last bit of summer.
NO!
I have to go to school and do more boring math, spelling, and writing instead of playing video games!
Basically, you have to kiss all your freedom goodbye, which really sucks.
The teachers basically think that we don't have a life and that all we care about is answering stupid math and reading questions AFTER school hours when we could be doing something useful and fun.
I really hate homework on the first day of school because everyone hates homework. Why can't the teachers realize that?
I know math is important, but man, is it boring.
Summer break should be from June 21 to September 21, so it makes sense! Plus, I wouldn't have to go to school on my birthday since it would still be summertime.
You're going back to school when it's still SUMMER! Why not start back on the first day of fall?
In my school, there are an average of 130 working days every year. The school where my cousin studies has 254 days.
Just looking at one makes me want to burn the television, throw it, smash it with a hammer, and scream in pain.
Feels like the internet is rubbing it in your face.
I'm like, "Enough already." Let the parents deal with the shopping, not the TV.
I hate dealing with those immature, narcissistic, popular kids who bully, spread false rumors about me, and make fun of me for being myself. There are far more idiots at my school than intelligent people (like me). I hate how I'm forced to interact with those snobs when I'm in priso- I mean school.
Those dumb kids are always looking over at your paper and all. Like, pay attention. What do you do when you're here for 7 hours a day?
When you look around and you are forced to look at the faces of idiots.
My math teacher used Microsoft IE, but my other teacher says, when I tell her I don't want to be in school, "Do your work now, or else you do it in playtime. You have to be in school." I wish this thing that mind-controls people to like school didn't exist. They make your parents give you extra HOMEWORK. No fair.
On the first day of school, I'm always afraid that I'm going to get stuck with a mean teacher.
I hate having to do these. Why can't we just say our names instead of talking about ourselves, what we do in our free time, and other stuff? Get to know you activities just make people nervous and are a useless waste of time. If you're introverted and anxious like me, it's going to be hell.
This is always my worst nightmare. I get anxious when speaking in front of the class, and this feels like a torture method for someone diagnosed with general or social anxiety. I'd rather be drawing in my notebook than speaking in front of the class and having someone notice that I'm not neurotypical.
Scratch the word "excruciating" and put "crucifying."
You will have to go back to school, and you will never sleep.
I always seem to not sleep on the night before the first day of school. It sucks.
The Newcomers
When you go back to school, you can't play with any of your toys (whether you film it or not). I'm 15, and it's a way of helping me calm down.
It sucks having no more time to play video games or be on your phone.
On the first day, you're crowded with a bunch of students who are all trying to get to their classes. It's a pain.
Claustrophobic people beware.
I hate going back and dealing with the jerks who picked on me the previous school year.
I hate going back because then I have to deal with the annoying kids and those flexers.
Having to see old jerks again always sucks.
I hated getting into trouble at school, especially if it was for a stupid reason.
What? Even the nuclear bomb incident?
Not only is summer still around when school starts, but for some kids, it's going to feel like school is still out. So some people will act stupid until autumn. Or they'll act stupid for the rest of the year if summer gets to their brains.
