Top 10 Most Underrated Super Smash Bros. Characters of All Time

Super Smash Bros. has had many characters in the series. Some of them are fan favorites like Captain Falcon and Marth. However, others don't get any love - either because they aren't very good, people just don't use them, or people dislike the character in general.

Today, I'll be listing the most underrated of all time, including characters from N64, Melee, Brawl, and Smash 4. As always, ENJOY!
The Top Ten
1 Jigglypuff Jigglypuff, known in Japan as Purin, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

In the N64 days, people thought she was a joke. Then Melee came, and she became very useful. Then Brawl came, and she sucked. Then Smash 4 came, and to this day, she's still not good, and people want her off the roster.

Why do you people want her off? She's been in every Smash game, and the chances of her getting removed from the roster are pretty slim.

2 Peach Princess Peach is a major character in the Mario Bros. Franchise. She is the lead female of the The Mario franchise. She is usually the character who needs saved in most Mario Games, but also has appeared as a playable character in the Main-Series Mario Games, including Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario... read more

Peach is overpowered, simple as that. I have defeated level 9 characters with Peach. I will admit, I've only played Super Smash Bros. for the Wii and DS, but wow, she is strong!

Everyone's too busy hating her to see she's really not that bad - nowhere near as bad as they claim. No, they insist.

God, why do people hate the females so much?

3 Olimar Olimar is a fictional character from Nintendo's Pikmin video game series created by Shigeru Miyamoto.

Just take a look at Brawl's tier list, and you'll find Olimar very high and underused.

4 Falco Lombardi

He's one of my mains, and he feels like a top-tier character, but the tier list places him almost in D tier.

5 Pichu Pichu is an Electric type Baby Pokémon introduced in Gen. 2. It evolves into Pikachu. It is in the in undiscovered egg group, since it's a baby Pokémon. It is No. 172 in the Pokedex. It can be called a joke character in Super Smash Bros. Melee, because of its awful stats and weak moves. After its... read more

Yes, I understand his moves cause him damage and that he's a clone of Pikachu, but he's a powerhouse when used properly.

6 Wolf

He was my main and sadly didn't make it. Not even the Smash Ballot saved him. (Thanks, Bayonetta.)

I beat the overrated Ice Climbers on level 9 AI every day with Wolf.

7 Yoshi Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur who appears in video games published by Nintendo. Often appearing as a sidekick and helper to Mario, Yoshi is most known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island and the Super Mario franchises.

In every game, he gets better, but he's rarely used competitively. Just look at aMSa from Melee - his Yoshi playstyle is godlike. In Brawl, Yoshi was pretty bad. In Smash 4, he is better than ever and still not widely used. He's high tier, but he hasn't performed well in tournament results, which makes him underrated.

I agree. He's definitely gotten better since Brawl. Back then, he sucked. Judging or not, he is my favorite character. He is still a high-tier character now, but he absolutely struggles when it comes to tournaments.

8 Rosalina & Luma Rosalina, known as Rosetta in Japan, is a major character in the Mario Franchise created by Nintendo. She first appeared in the 2007 Mario Game, Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii and later returned for the game's sequel in 2010. Since then, she has been featured in many main-series Mario Games... read more

A lot of people hate her, probably because of salt. Even competitively, she's barely used. (Thanks, Sheik.)

9 Ness

He is my favorite character! He's hard to master, but Mega Man is screwed against Ness and his bat.

10 Mii Brawler

He used to be viable in A tier, then the community banned customs, and Mii Brawler plummeted down to F tier.

The Contenders
11 Robin Robin is a character in Fire Emblem Awakening, which was developed by Intelligent Systems and Nintendo SPD and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS, and as one of three main protagonists of the game, serving as the deuteragonist.
12 Lucas
13 Samus Samus Aran is the protagonist of the science fiction action-adventure game series Metroid by Nintendo. A galactic bounty hunter, Samus is usually equipped with her Power Suit, giving her access to weapons she uses to battle her enemies.
14 Duck Hunt
15 Zelda Princess Zelda is a fictional character in Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda video game series, created by Shigeru Miyamoto and introduced in its original entry in 1986.

I'm talking about Zelda Zelda, not Sheik now! Hopefully, she gets better, and maybe her Down B can return where they'll both be useful!

16 Min-Min
17 Mii Swordfighter
18 Mii Gunner
19 Sora
20 Joker
21 Byleth
22 Steve
23 Ridley Ridley is a villain from the Metroid series and a character from the Super Smash Bros. series. He's Samus Aran's archenemy and has been fighting her since day one with the first Metroid game in 1986. When Samus was three years old, Ridley murdered her parents in front of her. He is a member of the Space... read more
