Top 10 Attack On Titan EpisodesJust a list about the Top 10 Episodes of Attack on Titan. Be sure not to be irrational when putting your vote/comment. (This isn't including the manga, sorry. ) Sorry if it doesn't follow your own list. Spoilers! (And it's only Season 1. )
I chose this episode as the first because it, for example, introduces fan favorite, Levi. (Of course, it didn't fully "introduce" him, but we didn't learn much from a short part in Episode 9. Another reason is because this episode gave us a bit of how the Attack on Titan world works, on a scale of something like Eren's situation, and the relationship of the Military Police and Survey Corps. Finally, I chose it because it's the one (I feel) with the most tense-ness, besides Episode 23.
Like I mentioned before, Episode 23 has the second-most tense-ness, with Eren going to court (again) and Armin hatching a plan with Annie to take Eren back. Also, we learn the Female Titan's identity: Annie. And that laugh though.
The first episode of Attack on Titan is fourth. Awkward. Anyway, even if everyone pretty much already knew what the show was about, the Colossus Titan was still super shocking. And Eren's mom's death was one of the saddest things I'd ever watched. (His reaction. )
The 9th episode of Attack on Titan revealed what'd happened to Eren after he'd gotten eaten up, and even has a short part of Levi's squad retaking a town from the Titans. It's quite intense, with Eren and Kitz Weilman arguing, and finally firing at him, Mikasa, and Armin.
The very last episode of Attack on Titan: Season 1. It's epically suspenseful, and a great final episode to a season. Annie's memories of her father, and just the fight and struggle are what make this episode great.
This should be on top 5.
Best episode by far
I mean, this was the episode that Eren got eaten. And already, everybody else with Eren (besides Armin) had deaths that made a shiver go down my spine. Armin's reaction to Eren's "death": At first you find it extremely depressing, and then it manages to become hilarious the more you watch it.
I don't know...
In both dubs, Armin's laugh, to me, was highly funny, and...adorable. This scene soon became the top meme generator, and his scream is really a good laugh.
Watching Eren get eaten shocked me so much. I really thought he died
This episode is VERY new so it hasn't gotten the treatment it deserves on this list, but if you check imbd it's the highest rated episode.
I only came here to vote for this episode, Really deserves to be number 1
This should be 1
The second episode sadly didn't make it into the top five, but is close. It doesn't have as much happening as in Episode 1, but it still has a lot to offer, as of Hannes' and Eren's talk, the boat ride to Wall Rose, Eren kicking a solider, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin all fighting (Mikasa ended it ), and them joining the Training Corps. You could say more happened in this episode than in the first, but it's more of a "after" then a "what happened".
Armin's plan was awesome to watch, as he used Eren's Titan to defeat other Titans, and we see Jean lead a group to get more gas for their gear. Also, this was the episode that revealed Eren to be a Titan-Shifter. And Mikasa's reaction. One word: Adorable.
The episode before it, Episode 12, what've been maybe an honorable mention. It just didn't really have as much as this episode. Eren breaks out, and takes back Trost from the Titans by closing the hole. Jean, Marco, Connie, and Annie have a moment. Levi saves the Trio from two titans. And I cried when Marco's body was found.
So many epic moments in this episode.
After watching No Regrets, and then rewatching this episode and episode 21, one can only imagine the pain and grief that Levi must be going through to experience the death of his closest comrades all over again. And if the insinuations that the episode put forth are to be believed, Petra was intent on getting married to the captain, adding yet another layer of agony unto his character. And yet, we see this poor man who has suffered more than more than anyone in the show, give up his own personal sentiment by giving Petra's patch (the last thing he has to connect with her) to a random soldier to bring him some comfort.
A truly heart wrenching episode
I'd put all the Female Titan arch-episodes here, but I can't,. Anyway, this is my personal second favorite episodes, but it doesn't come up to standards. This is the episode when Levi and Mikasa finally team up to get Eren back from the Female Titan (sadly, Episode 21 didn't make the list, and it'd be about #11). The Survey Corps have to sacrifice the Squad Levi corpses for them to survive two titans, and we see a grieved Levi get chatted to by Petra's father, and at the end we watch as Eren is summoned to the capital.
Eren vs. The Female Titan in the forest, an awesome fight!
I won't spoil anything for you, but please pay CLOSE attention to Ymir's backstory. The storytelling is awesome and the visuals/soundtrack are amazing, just after she wakes up as a human. One of the most heartwarming part of the whole anime. I haven't read the manga but I've read forums where manga fans are really surprised to see this animation so soon (Ymir's backstory appears very late), but the timing is just right. I would easily put this episode in my top 5.
I feel it is the smartest episodes with some really cool shots. After 8 very serious episodes finally we get some happy moments (and some vey sad moments). All the dialogue is super interesting. We finally get to see Ymir and Historia again ;(. And also the name is dropped in a unique as ever way (thanks Yams). This is probably my favourite episode of the show so far.
This was the episode that Eren was taken in the Scouts and Ms. Hange was introduced. In my opinion it was one of the funniest episodes especially when Ms. Hange was telling Eren about Bean and Sonny.
