Top 10 Funniest Animes

The Top Ten
1 Hetalia: Axis Powers

Hetalia has made me laugh until my sides hurt. ESPECIALLY the dub (It's one of the few anime where I can say that the dub is better than the sub). If you didn't know, the show is about anthropomorphic countries. Most of the countries are turned into hot men. The show focuses on what historical events would be like if they were people, with most of the show centering around WWII.
America in particular has made me laugh so hard that I've started crying. All of the other characters are also very funny. You should really give Hetalia a try if you're looking for a super funny anime!

Oh man, Hetalia is the only anime to have me laughing so hard that I'm crying. Almost all of the characters are hysterically funny and since the show is about the countries of the world as people, they have some of the countries stereotyped perfectly! America is a VERY good example...
This anime is a show to definitely watch if you want a really funny comedy!

So if you don't like stereotyping, not the show for you, but it only talks about it as a joke, so don't be mad when I say 'I told you so'. America, Italy and German... just so funny its hard to put into words, but yeah. You need to just check it out yourself because it is just so funny. I won't give a better desciption because you should just watch it, you'll defianlty be more interested in Social studies, or in Maps or in history.

Its alright. And its only funny if you are well familiar with World History, which, in my case, I wasn't. Plus the episode are really short, 2-3 minutes maybe.

2 Gintama Gin Tama, also styled as Gintama, is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi and serialized, beginning on December 8, 2003, in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.

Gintama will hit you hard when you least expect. When you are laughing your ass off, it will throw some emotional stuff, when you're crying, it will throw comedy at perfect timing, and when you feel like it's just some light hearted filler episode, it will change into intense fight scene and awesome plot to throw you off balance, that's gintama for ya.

Takes some time to get going and getting used to, but once it hits it's funny as all hell.
A lot of the jokes will be lost in translation though since many of them are very Japan-centric, but for everyone of those there's a million other ones that will still leave you laughing out loud

It should be the number one of all anime out there! And what's with the 121th place? I don't get it. Gintama has made me feel happy, sad, empty, mad, like screaming, laughing my ass off, all this mixed up feelings at once! Damn! I just love it too much!

Hands down for the all mighty Gintama! This anime is the best and funniest I've ever seen in my life! The characters are hilarious even when times are bad and I don't think I'll ever get bored with this anime. Just watching one episode already makes my day

3 Nichijou

This is a perfect example of making the most of an abusive animation budget. They make jokes like most slice of life comedies, but when the joke normally would stop, they just keep going until it reaches the point of absolute, physics-breaking insanity. This series is what made me think to myself, "that's it. I need to watch more slice of life anime." I still have yet to find one that tops Nichijou, though, & I know for sure that I will never get bored with this anime no matter how many times I re-watch it. Why couldn't MY ordinary life be like this?

Yukko, is possibly one of the funniest people you could ever even imagine being in a high school anime. The plot isn't really there, but its just so adorable and cute and random, and its just so cute and funny that the characters themselves make up for it. The professor and Nano are a whole other different story, and you just need to watch this if you haven't already. To those who have watched it, *places hand on you shoulder* you know, you just know what I am talking about, so please right your own vote because this needs to be at the top.

It might not be the most ha-ha thing you'll watch, but you have to admit that it's so damn entertaining to watch, especially the over-the-top animation.

By the way, Nano is love, Nano is life.

I think Yukko and Mio's relationship are really cute and I love Mio's wooden cubes. I wish there were a top ten best Nichijou characters it would be fun to say what I think of all of them!

4 Soul Eater Soul Eater is an anime series directed by Takuya Igarashi and produced by Bones, Aniplex, Dentsu, Media Factory, and TV Tokyo, which adapts the Soul Eater manga written and illustrated by Atsushi Ohkubo.

I love it when Death the Kid loses his mind when there's asymmetry.

5 Ouran High School Host Club Ouran High School Host Club is a manga series by Bisco Hatori, serialized in Hakusensha's LaLa magazine between the September 2002 and November 2010 issues. You just have to look at all their, how should I put this, 'bright' personalities. Kyoya senpai is just so mean, Honey senpai is adorable, Mori Senpai is the tough cool guy but Honey breaks that, the twins are so preverted and Creepy, Tamaki is just something of his own design, and Haruhi is the most Oblivious you could ever meet. I swear to blah bflahf sa anime gahd, that this could possibly the first anime that has literally made me laugh so hard until it hurt.

For me Fairy tail is pretty goofy and is probably 1 of the few things that make me like this show, even though I'm not a fan I still find is entertaining because of the humour.

I love fairy tail like crazy and I think it's super funny, it's my second favorite anime and I'm glad I watched it because the characters are so different and put together, the anime is amazing.

It's really funny as well as action packed, every character has a special and widely distinguishable sense of humor.

7 Angel Beats! Angel Beats! is a 13-episode Japanese anime television series produced by P.A.Works and Aniplex and directed by Seiji Kishi.

It is very funny, but really sad at the same time. My favourite anime!

I chose Angel beats (I also love Ouran high school host club but this was so down on the list) because the Rocket chairs made me laugh uncontrollably! Although this is a sad anime (like You're Lie In April), it makes people feel joy when they help each other and they try to accomplish their dreams (which most of them do). =^~^=

I can not stop laughing!

8 Baka and Test

Oh my god, It's so funny! It shouldn't be 19, it should be 1!
The characters are well developed, it has amazing art, each of the characters are funny in their own way, and it doesn't have too much fanservice! (There is a little though). Overall, this should surpass at the very least Fairy Tail.

Hands down one of the funniest animes ever made. Every character is hilarious and the episodes get funnier and funnier every second. It never gets old, and it definitely deserves to be placed among the ranks of School Rumble and The Melancholy or Haruhi Suzumiya

Definitely one of the funniest animes I've ever seen! This should be in the Top 3. I always died laughing whenever the boys got nosebleeds over Hideyoshi

Why is this not in the top 3? SERIOUSLY! This is one of the funniest animes of all time!

100 Sit ups, 100 squats, 100 push ups, eat 3 meals a day, a banana for breakfast is fine. Don't use the ac in the summer and don't use the heater in the winter to strengthen the mind...

Before even punching, you already expect what would happen that you cannot stop laughing just before and after the punch.

Godly. The whole freaking anime is just so funny

A super funny hero

The Contenders
11 School Rumble

Around episode 5 it picks up and you can't stop watching after that, it's flat out HILARIOUS. I don't think there is a character you can dislike. Perverted moments but funny after moments. Nothing is dull about this anime.

One of the funniest animes ever. PERIOD. The characters are hysterical and the situations Tenma and Harima get themselves into never stop being funny. And when its not being funny, it's a great story and proves very touching at times. Definitely worth watching

Funniest anime I've ever seen. And I've seen plenty.

So far I am watching it, and its is funny and good! Sadly, it can troll with the veiwer's mind

12 Blood Lad

14 Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan

One of my favorite anime's ever. You into cliche edgy anime husbandos? Watch this right now.

One of the funniest thing you'll ever see.

15 KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World! is a Japanese light novel series written by Natsume Akatsuki.

I saw some people watching the first episode of this anime when I was in my English class for tutoring. It's kind of like Sword Art Online (don't get me wrong, I still love it, but I just thought about how it's similar to KonoSuba.), but with tons of comedy. The characters are really hilarious and I really like Kazuma and Aqua. I SO have to watch this anime!

Probably one of the funnies animes I have watched, as literally every episode made me laugh.

The incompetence in the main characters makes up for some solid comedic moments.

16 Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou
17 One Piece One Piece is a manga franchise created by Eiichiro Oda. The manga has been adapted into an original video animation (OVA) produced by Production I.G in 1998, and an anime series produced by Toei Animation, which began broadcasting in Japan in 1999 and has aired 851 episodes to date.

Luffy is probably the funniest out of all of them. I like his high energy.

I am absolutely disgusted that this isn't in the top 3. It's not onlu the funniest anime ever, it's one of the funniest pieces of animation ever.

The most air-headed anime. Cannot forget this I want season 2 where they somehow ended up in the same college jk there is no story like that.

22 Sket Dance

For me, Sket Dance shows us really funny moments. I mean in each episode, who wouldn't laugh. I like that this anime doesn't only focus on comedy, but has a serious side. *cough* (The episodes of Bossun, Himeko, and Switch) I would really recommend this to you if your looking for comedy.

Life of try hard club with their sad backstories that make their present stories so funny.

Lot lot lot of jabs

23 Nisekoi

Bro, this so hilarious! I enjoy the great voice acting, the bight colors, and the characters! The charters are the best part about the anime! Warning! shippers ahead!

An anime television series adaptation by Satelight aired between 5 October 2016 and 22 March 2017.
