NFL Teams Most Likely to Land Alejandro Villanueva in the 2021 Offseason
You need somebody to protect your blindside, this guy did that for nearly a decade. Villanueva could be like Whitworth and last a long time in the league. In this case here are teams who could use his great leadership in the trench.Chargers are talented bunch, but what they lacked was good coaching, and a few things that did them in the end. One of those was not having a left tackle consistently from week to week. Let's end that with this signing how ever way you can mutually go at this.
Texans have been terrible helping Watson get quality tackles. Laremy Tunsil that had to literally give up a draft pick for. He has done his part. Problem is the rest of the team does a bad job blocking when they are ready for a pass play. Having two behemoths on your weak sides helps. Would it work for such a dysfunctional bunch?
If they can get Villanueva on their team then their is a possibility you can keep DeShaun Watson.
I feel like this would be a smart move for them
Seattle's line has hardly gotten that much better. Similar to Houston in many ways. Difference is they don't have a younger tackle more less a guy towards the end of his career. I guess focusing in on veteran players isn't bad, but your window is fading fast. Not sure if this is the right move, but they do need help on the right side along with most other area of that line.
Denver has great skill set of players, but offensive line can get better. Ju'Wuan James was a terrible signing so better upgrade would be getting Villanueva. Sure Bolles bounced back to many's surprise. Careful if he timbers back down if a real crowd returns. Broncos are there, but another problem would be the scheme itself and we'll leave at that.
Personally I think the Eagles' offense is going backwards. Jalen Hurts needs a line that can protect him for longer seconds. Luckily he is able to scramble a lot. Problem is we have seen him pass the ball, but hardly much. If Philly wants to shock people build up the trench knowing your probably going nowhere in 2021. Bring in veteran sounds like the most Philly thing that actually makes sense in this case.
Miami surely can run the ball, but the way they protect against the pass must be better if they wanna take the next step. Maybe Austin Jackson steps his game, and on the other side you could plug in Villanueva and your that much closer that is you still believe in Tua by then.
Green Bay just recently cut Rick Wagner on the right side, and a big upgrade would be go getting the army man outta Pittsburgh alright. While J.J. Watt would be the more credible dream to fans. On the flip side keep your offensive trench in tact. Especially if you lose your center at worst. If Green Bay wants their last shot they must focus on the interior first before going after the back half of defense in the draft.
Hm, this could be interesting. Only problem is Villanueva might command a decent bit of money and he’s a left tackle. But maybe bring him in to start at left tackle if Bakhtiari isn’t recovered for Week 1 then attempt to move him to the right side when Bakhtiari returns.
Yeah I would say both teams in a big state are great destinations to consider. Cowboys line is aging like Pittsburgh. Maybe this works in his favor if he played for America's team. In Jerry's world he could go for somebody like this. I mean Tyson Smith looks like he is near his end, and La'el Collins is not too bad. Bringing in this guy all healthy and hardly goes down will give a boost for this offense that can pass the ball well at times.
If there is a revenge scenario it would have to be Baltimore. Cincy maybe tempting, but Ravens are probably gotta be thinking of a 2nd option if they are forced to dealt Orlando Brown.
They probably would not have the cap to sign him, but make him your right tackle. Cousins could get some better protection going. Problem is you gonna have to cut some people to make this move just like what your rival has done.
