The Top Ten
Season 4 (2013) Twilight Sparkle, now a princess, grapples with her royal responsibilities while uncovering the significance of a mysterious chest tied to the Tree of Harmony. The ponies embark on various quests to locate the keys needed to open the chest. Their journey culminates in a battle against Lord Tirek, where Twilight unlocks the final key and unleashes a powerful magic to save Equestria.

- Triple Threat: Ember was better in her debut episode, and it wasn't very enjoyable or creative. 3.5/10

- Campfire Tales: Some great animation here and there, and I thoroughly enjoyed the legend of Mistmane. 7/10

- To Change a Changeling: We finally get to see the new and improved changeling hive! 9/10

- Daring Done?: Probably my least favorite of the Daring Do episodes, but it was still pretty good. I like the explanation of why the statue mattered so much to them. 7.5/10

- It Isn't the Mane Thing About You: I wish it had more Zecora, but it was enjoyable and fun. 8/10

Season 7 is my third favorite. Could that change!?

Season 2 (2011) The ponies face new challenges, including the return of the mischievous spirit Discord, who disrupts harmony in Equestria. They also confront Queen Chrysalis, the changeling queen, during the royal wedding of Princess Cadance and Shining Armor. Throughout these trials, the friends deepen their understanding of friendship and unity.

Season 1 brought one below-average villain, Nightmare Moon, then never did anything again.

Season 2, however, brought two of the best villains, Discord and Queen Chrysalis.

Season 3 brought the underrated King Sombra, who everyone hates because he wasn't Discord.

Season 4 brought the best villain in the series, the return of Tirek.

Season 5 just brought the last villain, the ill-conceived Starlight Glimmer.

Season 6 brought the return of Queen Chrysalis, ruining everything.

While the brony fandom was growing, Season 2 debuted with an epic new character: Discord! This season also includes awesome episodes including: Lesson Zero, Sisterhooves Social, Sweet and Elite, Secret of My Excess, Hearth's Warming Eve, Baby Cakes, The Last Roundup (Derpy talks!), Read It and Weep, and more! Then, A Canterlot Wedding for the finale!

Season 5 (2015) The ponies encounter Starlight Glimmer, who has established a village where everypony’s cutie mark is equal. Following her defeat, they embark on adventures guided by a magical map that sends them on friendship missions across Equestria. The season concludes with Starlight seeking redemption and becoming Twilight's student.

Way better than any of the seasons before it, and way better than any of the seasons after it. It has all the best episodes and is just about as close to perfection as you can get!

Consistently good. I think season 2 is the worst. It had Mare Do Well, Baby Cakes, Dragon Quest, Hearts and Hooves Day, and Putting Your Hoof Down. I personally like Putting Your Hoof Down, but it is a very flawed and bad episode.

Totally one of the best seasons. It's very cool to see the different futures without the friendship of the mane 6. Plus, there are great songs.

Season 3 (2012) Twilight Sparkle continues her studies and faces new responsibilities, including the return of the Crystal Empire and its tyrant, King Sombra. She also completes a significant magical test, leading to her transformation into an alicorn and her coronation as a princess. The season explores themes of growth and leadership.

Sure, it's short, but I really love the 3D-ish animation of the season and the stories. I may think Seasons 4 and 5 have better episodes, but this is where it started growing the beard.

Season 6 (2016) Starlight Glimmer continues her path of redemption under Twilight's guidance. The Crystal Empire welcomes Flurry Heart, the first alicorn born in Equestria, whose powerful magic presents new challenges. The season ends with Starlight leading a rescue mission against Queen Chrysalis, showcasing her growth.

I actually haven't really liked this season. It hasn't been terrible so far, but it has been quite lackluster.

Season 1 (2010) Twilight Sparkle, a studious unicorn, is sent by Princess Celestia to Ponyville to learn about the magic of friendship. There, she befriends Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie, and together they discover they embody the Elements of Harmony. The season follows their adventures as they strengthen their bonds and assist the residents of Ponyville.

The start of it all!

Season 9 (2019) The final season brings together past villains, including Queen Chrysalis, Lord Tirek, and Cozy Glow, who form an alliance against Equestria. Twilight prepares to ascend the throne as ruler of Equestria, facing doubts about her readiness. The series concludes with a climactic battle and a flash-forward showing the enduring legacy of friendship.

Love this season so far! It has the 200th episode, Twilight's Seven, which beat the 100th episode, Slice of Life, by a mile. The return of King Sombra (giving him more than four words this time) in The Beginning of the End was an awesome two-part premiere.

The last two episodes of the series are going to be great - other than the fact that there won't be any new episodes after them.

Why isn't Season 9 at the top?

Season 7 (2017) The ponies uncover legends of Equestria's past, including the Pillars of Old Equestria. They work to bring these ancient heroes back to combat the Pony of Shadows. The season emphasizes the importance of understanding and forgiveness.

Season 7 is most likely the best season, although the season premiere is not the 2-part special (Celestial Advice and All Bottled Up). Most likely, 'Fame and Misfortune' is one of the top favorites in Season 7 because Twilight gives all the Friendship Journals to everyone in Equestria. However, some people argue that not every pony is flawless. For example, Rarity cries because one pony said that she is not part of the team. This episode almost ends with the song 'Flawless'.

Other episodes I recommend include "A Flurry of Emotions", "Forever Filly", and the 2-part finale, "Shadow Play". In the episode "A Royal Problem", Celestia turns into Daybreaker, similar to how Princess Luna turned into Nightmare Moon. Fortunately, this is actually the last season before My Little Pony: The Movie was released.

Season 8 (2018) Twilight and her friends establish the School of Friendship to teach ponies and other creatures about harmony. They face challenges from the Equestria Education Association and threats from Cozy Glow, a deceptive student. The season highlights the value of diversity and collaboration.

I'm not sure if it started in 2017 or not, but it was definitely being made in 2018. I really like this season so far. Twilight opened her school of friendship, which kind of takes the friendship message too far. We explore the different lifestyles of the various creatures of the MLP universe. Speaking of that, I LOVE The Young 6. This group includes a pony named Sandbar, a dragon named Smolder, a changeling named Ocellus, a yak named Yona, a griffon named Gallus, and a hippogriff named Silverstream. I think they're the best MLP affiliation in recent memory. So far, season 8 is very good. I added this, by the way.
