Top Ten Reasons Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Should Not Be Remade
There's been a lot of talk going around the cod community about remaking Modern Warfare 2. However, this list shall show reasons why that might not be a good idea.Horrendous balance and a slew of glitches, MW2 is broken as all hell. It's not the worst game in the series, but it's easily the most broken.
I've complained about Call of Duty games being the same thing, but I think the original MW needed a remaster. MW2 and anything above that simply does not.
That seems a little hypocritical to me.
I feel like people are asking for this game purely out of nostalgia. If you went back and played mw2 today, it would be a very frustrating experience.
After the 2010 breakup, IW has been a splintered mess of a company. Do you really want the guys who made Ghosts (the worst game in the series) to handle a remake of your favorite Call of Duty? I sure wouldn't.
Cod4 is a revolutionary game that is well balanced and was so influential for the FPS genre, that I'd vouch for a 10 year anniversary remake. MW2 however, is not revolutionary, and certainly isn't balanced.
New players playing the campaign will have no clue what's going on. I guess this could work with a MW collection, but not a solo mw2 remake.
Ghosts may have been a terrible game, but many people enjoyed the story. A MW2 remake would make it so we never get to see the next chapter.
I loved Ghosts and enjoyed the campaign.
Spec Ops is just not as popular as zombies or extinction mode. Survival mode in MW3 was okay, but the scripted missions are just you running through sections of the campaign levels again.
Mw2's customization and class building is very restrictive compared to what we have today.
The folks at IW have been working on a new Call of Duty game for three years. The whole movement to remake mw2 started about a year ago. It's too late for them to go back now.
