Top 10 Ways to Turn a Guy Off

Women usually know a thing or two when it comes to getting a guy's attention. But what some women don't know is how to turn a guy off. Whether you're trying to repel a guy or just want to be cautious of what not to do around a guy, here are ten ways to repel guys like mice running from a cat.
The Top Ten
Nag constantly

No one, especially guys, hates being constantly nagged for petty things or anything in general. If you're nagging or lecturing your guy a lot, then stop. Men don't like pushy people. If you keep doing it, he may eventually snap, leading to a complete turn-off.

I hate bossing and demanding things, so guys, don't worry about me. I won't ask you for money or anything. As a female, I hate being bossed around a lot. I like to take charge of my life.

You are not really important enough for me to put up with that, even if we are married.

Constantly talk about an ex

It's fine to bring up a past relationship once in a while - it's normal. But excessively talking about an ex can leave a guy wondering if you're truly interested in him or if you're just using him as a rebound. Sadly, it's common in dating for someone to be used as a rebound, and no guy wants that. So, unless you want him to think you're still hung up on your ex, don't make your ex a frequent topic of conversation when you're with him.

Have bad hygiene

Nobody wants a smelly girlfriend or boyfriend. Imagine you're really tired, walk home, and open the door, only to be greeted by a bad odor coming from your partner. It's a complete turn-off.

This title explains it. Bad breath, unshaved legs, unkempt hair, dirty clothes, and a filthy appearance overall can easily leave a guy running for his life.

It goes both ways. If you want a significant other, then you better take care of yourself, or else you will have your significant other running for their life.

Be clingy

This is the number one turn-off. A guy loves to have his own time and space to unwind from his day. When someone, especially his significant other, crosses too far into his boundaries, it can easily annoy him. This doesn't just apply to men. Women also like to have some time to themselves now and then.

This reminds me of an incident when I was in 10th grade. I had a classmate whose girlfriend was really cheerful, clingy, and flirty. She didn't leave him alone, even during exams! Me and my friend were studying, and I saw him running away when he saw her coming! He collided with benches and stuff, but he kept running! She quickly went to her seat, hid her face, and started crying. I was shocked, but my friend was trying to hide her hysterical laughter.

Have a jerk personality

Nobody wants to be with a stuck-up jerk with a mean streak, so try your best to be courteous, kind, generous, and overall nice.

It does not take rocket science to know that nobody wants a boyfriend or girlfriend who is a jerk. It's common sense.

Be dishonest

Related to being fake, a guy likes someone he knows he can trust. A man doesn't want to be with someone who always gives away his most prized secrets or someone who constantly lies.

This would likely drive me to insanity.

Dishonest people cheat and use others.

Wear too much makeup

Similar to some of the earlier points, no guy wants to feel like he just performed in a circus after kissing a girl. Too much makeup can make a girl look desperate or fake. If you're guilty of this, maybe it's time to tone it down a bit.

Glad to hear that there are guys who prefer natural over makeup on girls. I'm a woman who despises makeup. Men don't need makeup to look good, so having women wear it is a stinking double standard.

I wouldn't want to date a clown! Do they really have to be insecure enough to put on a bunch of unnecessary products?

Compare yourself to his mother
Be a chatter box

Going back to number two, a guy likes to talk to his partner and hear from them. But what he doesn't like is someone who talks 24/7, especially when he has something important to do or when it's not a good time. Remember to give him some space and talk when it's appropriate.

Good thing I am not all too talkative. I am an ambivert, meaning I can be really social, or really quiet.

Get implants

No, I am not Kim Kardashian or Nicki Minaj!

Be a flake

People who pretend to be someone else often end up getting the opposite of what they want. A guy loves authenticity, not someone pretending to be a goddess or god. When you're being your true self, a guy can sense that from a mile away. The same goes for flakiness.

Make fun of him when he’s wrong

It depends on the situation and how wrong he was, but nobody likes to admit being wrong. However, there's absolutely no reason to rub it in. The only thing that accomplishes is turning him off.

Overreact

Overreacting causes unnecessary drama, and everyone hates drama.

Send nudes

This is obvious for so many reasons. There is a surprising number of men who find sexting a huge turn-off. No man likes being bombarded by sexts, which can land him or the sender behind bars. It's also just not appreciated in general. I strongly advise that you never even consider sending nudes. If you're a high school or college student, this can ruin your chances of getting into your dream college or landing your ideal job. You could also be charged with sexual assault or harassment of a minor. The same goes for sending drug-related pictures or offensive content. Don't even think about doing anything like that. Be smart, and you'll thank me later.

Use bathroom humor

I never want to hear about your period. Period.

Always want to text and never hang out in person

I hate texting when you can call. My age group is always made fun of for texting, it's like, just shut up!

Duh, it's true.

Be immature
Be a stalker

That's borderline crazy girlfriend. If it isn't, then it's totally crazy psycho girlfriend territory.

Talk like an infant
Listen to boy bands in his presence

I listen to Hollywood Undead, but they are rock and rap. At the same time, all the members are guys. So, are they counted as a boy band?

You can listen to whatever you want. Geez, I'm not gonna be turned off by it. Damn, some boy bands are catchy if you let it sink in.

Be nosey
Be melodramatic
Hate on metal music

She doesn't have to like metal. She just has to not completely dismiss it. This is a sign of a close-minded person, which is not metal at all, dude.

You're allowed to dislike what you really don't like, but constantly talking about how much you hate it will get annoying.

What person in their right mind does that?
