Top Ten Signs You're Becoming a Teenager
Yes, in your teenage years, you'll get taller. You'll notice how tall you're becoming.
It depends. For example, I'm 26, and I still like stuffed animals, but I like different types than when I was a kid.
When I was a kid, I liked Barney plushes. I literally dragged them everywhere. They're now dumb to me.
Now, I like horses, Perry the Platypus, and a Minion.
I grew out of toys a while ago, except for LEGO. I still occasionally play with LEGO.
Kind of like in Toy Story 3, where Andy grows up and has to give away his toys.
I might be attracted to the opposite sex, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be lovey-dovey anytime soon.
I haven't had a crush since I was eight. However, I have made more friends of the opposite gender since then.
Most of my friends have been boys ever since I was a kid. I care about them just as much as I did when I was younger.
I've always thought about my future. Who doesn't?
Growing facial hair for the first time was the best. I started to realize how sexy it made me look.
A sign a girl hits puberty is when she has her first period. It's awful.
It sucks at first, but after a while, you just kinda get used to it, to be honest.
My music taste was significantly different five years ago. Back then, I pretty much just liked whatever was on the radio - Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, etc. But I started getting into bands like Evanescence and eventually Three Days Grace.
As a kid, I didn't listen to music that often, but I did enjoy it. Now, I have a wide taste in music, even listening to bands you may not have heard of, like Catfish and the Bottlemen, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Placebo.
I've always liked rock, but now I'm listening to more punk (real punk, not Green Day), heavy metal, rap (but not what they play on the radio nowadays), jazz, blues, classical, and even EDM.
What? I'm a teenager, but I think playing with young kids is awesome! I like playing with both kids and teenagers. If anything, playing with adults is the most boring.
Well, when they throw tantrums over simple things like Caillou, then yes. I hope kids never watch Caillou.
I just don't interact with younger people, you know, and I don't agree because little ones are just so cute. If there's someone who does annoy me, it's my younger sister.
I have been noticing this in myself. I hate being emotional. I wish I was less emotional and cared less.
When I was younger, I was dark and isolated. Now that I'm older, I'm just bored and tired.
Heck yeah, but I was always like that. Now, instead of being cute, I'm annoying.
Generally, I mean, I'm still friends with many people I've known for a long time, but how often I see them varies.
Yeah, I did notice this with my group of friends.
Yeah. The older I get, the fewer friends I have...
The Newcomers
This reminds me of that plot element from Codename: Kids Next Door where if you're a Kids Next Door operative and you finally turn 13 years old, you have to be decommissioned since you're no longer a kid and now you're a teenager.
That birthday has already passed. Pretty soon next year, I'm going to have my 15th birthday. God, I feel old.
I stopped trick or treating when I was like 10 because I realized why go to people's homes to get such a small amount of candy when I could just get my mom to buy a big bag of the candy I want from Stater Bros?
Well, I went trick or treating this year, but I instantly regretted it because I went to houses where kids my age were giving out candy... BUT I love candy.
I didn't go trick-or-treating this year. Not because I thought I was too old, but because I just didn't want to.
Not that often, but definitely more than before.
I won't force myself to do homework because it will waste my time.
I still shop with my mom since she buys my stuff, but she's very in tune with the kind of clothes I like. My dad is kind of the opposite. Even though my clothing style is based on his taste, he sometimes thinks that my clothes have to be expensive for them to be "high quality."
My sister and I were only able to shop at the mall by ourselves with her friends one time. Otherwise, we always have to go shopping with our mom. And trust me, it's just dreadful whenever I shop with her.
I don't. My parents are overprotective, so I never did this, and I probably won't until I am 18.
I've had anxiety since elementary school, probably because of my mean teachers.
Like, my current family in the future, or kids, which I don't want?
