Most Underrated NFL Players Going Into the 2018-2019 SeasonPackFan2005 We’ve had loads of underrated NFL players in the past. Some that play well, but are overshadowed by others at the position. Going into the 2018 season, we have plenty of players that aren’t getting the recognition they deserve. We’re looking at the top ten most underrated NFL players going into the 2018-2019 NFL season.
The Top Ten
Martinez quietly led the NFL in tackles in 2017, but no one really knew. He’s pretty much unknown to a lot of people, unlike some on this list. But 2018 can be better for him. Maybe he’ll finally get some honors and a pro bowl. With depth lacking at linebacker in Green Bay, his workload will increase, meaning more opportunities for success in 2018. - PackFan2005
Compared to Julius Peppers and Luke Kuechly, he isn’t much. But Addison is a difference maker. A vital part of Carolina’s defensive line, he never quite gets the recognition he deserves. But maybe once Julius Peppers retires, he’ll finally become known. - PackFan2005
A top ten cornerback, and he’s still not really being acknowledged. He’s been overshadowed by Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. I’m still kind of disappointed that Green Bay gave up on him, but I’m glad he’s finally living up to his true potential with the Chargers. He finally has a chance to make a name for himself in 2018, with Los Angeles primed to make a playoff run. - PackFan2005
Always been overshadowed by J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney, and unfortunately, it will most likely remain that way. Mercilus needs more recognition, but being on the same team with Watt and Clowney doesn’t help his case. - PackFan2005
Definitely underrated. He is one of the best defensive lineman in the NFL for sure (you know, every Jaguar d-lineman is one of the best in the NFL). That defense is just incredible! - DoroExploro13
Howard is a beast. I don't understand why no one cares.
He's underestimated for his talent
Of course he’s here. One of the only Bears to be consistent over the last two years, yet no recognition whatsoever. I’ll bet he’ll make his first pro bowl in 2018, maybe second team all pro. Howard has a chance to become a top five back in the NFL. - PackFan2005
I am glad you recognized Blake as underrated. He isn't a bad QB. He played through a hand injury throughout the 2016 and 2017 seasons. If his hand stays healthy, I'm sure he will dominate. - DoroExploro13
He used to be the usual suspect to attack when the Jaguars were a joke but last year was different. Was that just a fluke or has he turned the corner - Randomator
Okay, people say he’s garbage, but if he was, would he have gotten Jacksonville, a personal loser, to the AFC Championship? I know, the defense carried them, but Bortles ran the offense, a vital part of any team. He’s severely underrated, I’ll tell you that. Now that we’re approaching the 2018 season, can Bortles finish what he started last season? - PackFan2005
Man, he’s been snubbed of a lot of things. Pro bowl, first team all-pro, the list goes on. Smith has consistently been one of the NFL’s best safeties over the last few years. He needs to make a pro bowl. And I’m sure he will this year. Smith is the most talented safety in the NFL. Hands down. - PackFan2005
Keeps getting traded now rams say he is on the protected list. Should tell you something, over 1,000 yards last 2 years. With his kind of speed and staying on same team you better believe in cooks!
New Orleans and New England were foolish to toss Cooks around. Now, the Patriots are severely lacking depth at wide receiver, and are probably regretting letting him go. Now he’s fallen into the hands of the juggernaut Rams, which won’t help the Patriots chances of winning the super bowl. Brandin Cooks has finally found his home in Los Angeles. - PackFan2005
He’s probably going to get a bad rep and slide under the radar because Cleveland - Randomator
Especially when it comes to Quarterbacks. It been that way since 1999. Hence the nickname Quarterback Graveyard - Randomator
He has great toe drag swag so I don't see why no one cars.
Probably the most underrated receiver in the NFL. While he’s not elite, he’s still a consistently good target for Russell Wilson, and his workload will only increase with Paul Richardson and Jimmy Graham gone. Baldwin may even make a pro bowl in the future. - PackFan2005
A.J. Green? Yes, because he’s been overshadowed by Antonio Brown and Julio Jones his entire career, even though I think Green is better than Jones. If only Green didn’t play for a garbage team, then maybe he’d get the recognition he deserves. - PackFan2005
Most overrated quarterback ever
Haha, he’s anything but underrated. - PackFan2005
Again, also not underrated. - PackFan2005
San Francisco’s 49ers QB
Got a chance to start when Jimmy G got injured for the season
John Sherman "JuJu" Smith-Schuster is an American football wide receiver and return specialist for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.
