Top 10 Worst Companies in the World

What makes a company one of the worst in the world? Is it shady business practices, poor treatment of employees, relentless greed, or something else entirely? Everyone has their own criteria, and chances are you've got a few strong opinions on the matter. Some companies seem to thrive on controversy, earning them a special kind of notoriety among consumers and workers alike. Others may start with good intentions but quickly find themselves criticized for their missteps or outright abuses.

This list isn't about celebrating success - it's about calling out failures, wrongdoings, and the many ways companies have let people down.
The Top Ten
Walmart

Walmart is not doing layaway this year for some unknown, foolish reason, which will really hurt a lot of families this holiday season. This decision will likely backfire on Walmart too because, frankly, they are idiots.

My mom almost never takes me to Walmart unless it's her absolute last resort when trying to find something she needs to buy. I never understood why she hated that place so much, but the comments here explain a lot.

Their return policies regarding video games are a complete ripoff because they won't take back any games if the plastic has been removed.

Electronic Arts Electronic Arts, Inc., also known as EA Games, is an American developer, marketer, publisher and distributor of video games headquartered in Redwood City, California.

Electronic Arts is a greedy company that makes overblown, massively hyped games with mediocre gameplay and makes several mistakes. They never get tired of releasing the same FIFA games over and over, with each one being literally the same as the last.

They overwork their employees and have acquired beloved companies only to cancel good games. They even recreated Star Wars Battlefront II in the worst way possible. The PS2 version from Pandemic Studios is much more affordable and even better than that expensive mess EA put out.

Nobody should care about this demonizing company. Never waste your money on anything EA does. NEVER!

They were tricking my great-grandfather into bad deals.

Verizon Verizon Communications Inc., commonly known as Verizon, is an American multinational telecommunications conglomerate.

Verizon will get you killed if they can. I called for help, asking for State Police Emergency, and they kept saying, "You have to be specific. Which one? There are so many." I said, "Any one, please, give me one now! My children are in danger!"

The Verizon operator replied, "But I told you, you have to be specific. I can't just connect you to one." This went on for some time. I died... All true except for the last part. My children are gone. With luck and a good lawyer, Verizon will be gone too.

Progressive's commercials are annoying, but they are nothing compared to the trashy phone provider known as Verizon.

Viacom Viacom is a global entertainment content company that specializes in television, film, and digital media. Founded in 1952, the company is headquartered in New York City and owns a variety of media networks including MTV, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central. Viacom also holds Paramount Pictures, a major... read more

They removed Nick and Nick Jr. from my cable network back in the day, so I never got to wake up on Saturdays to watch SpongeBob every week like everyone else.

Why is this not higher on the list?

LJN LJN Toys, Limited was an American toy company and video game publisher in operation from 1970 to 1995. It manufactured toy lines and released battery operated water guns and video games based on licensed properties from movies, television shows, and celebrities.

They made a bad Friday the 13th game.

Google Google is an American multinational technology company specializing in Internet-related services and products. These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, and software.

Everything about them sucks. They barely even know what the hell "online privacy" is.

Stupid services that are full of viruses. They steal personal data.

The Google Play Store and YouTube are the absolute worst.

Pearson

An evil empire, a billion-dollar monopoly spanning hundreds of years, sucking the blood of students (our future) everywhere. Dysfunctional from top to bottom, with academic institutions wrapped around their finger.

They will tie up your bank funds without allowing access to their site for no reason. Good luck getting someone on the phone. There is nothing you can do.

T-Mobile T-Mobile is a telecommunications company that offers a wide range of services, including mobile phone plans, internet, and TV services. Originally based in Germany, T-Mobile has operations in various countries and focuses on providing innovative and customer-friendly products. The company aims to be... read more

The Newcomers

? Tesla

Elon Musk made a horrible company and is a joke. Also, a Girl Scout was run over by a Tesla the other day. Please, for the safety of the world, don't buy a Tesla. And even if you do, for no reason should you put it in auto drive.

? Affirm, Inc.

They only take certain credit. Worst of all, they're the reason Walmart did away with its traditional layaway.

The Contenders
YouTube YouTube is a global video-sharing website headquartered in San Bruno, California, United States. The service was created by three former PayPal employees on February 14, 2005. In November 2006, it was acquired by Google for US$1.65 billion. YouTube is ranked as one of the most visited websites, securing... read more

Apple devices are cheaply made, yet overpriced. They keep making excuses for their customers to spend more money on their electronics (such as removing the headphone jack on iPhones). Their devices lack the freedom that Windows and Android provide, and they tend to slow down after 3-4 years of use, forcing you to buy another overpriced product.

Unlike Windows desktops, which you can modify as needed, you can't easily replace the RAM, storage, or graphics card on Macs. This forces you to buy an entirely new computer.

Then we have iTunes. The problem with iTunes is that you have to buy individual songs, while services like Spotify offer almost everything for free.

Another issue is the lack of SD card support. While iPhones may have more internal storage on average than Androids, most Androids give you access to SD cards (up to half a terabyte), in addition to Google Drive, which is more user-friendly than iCloud.

Android and Windows devices are much more diverse. With Apple products, you only have one choice for each type of device: iPhone for phones, iPad for tablets, or Mac for computers. In contrast, Android offers a wide variety of brands, and many devices can also run Windows. Windows takes customization a step further, with dedicated users able to build their own computers easily.

All in all, Macs are only good as a last resort for side-booting Windows.

McDonald's McDonald's is an American fast food company, founded in 1940 as a restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California, United States. They rechristened their business as a hamburger stand... read more

McDonald's does not value its employees, yet they expect everything from them. Crew members and managers are poorly paid and receive little to no benefits. The corporation spends millions on landscaping, advertising, and the annual "Monopoly" game, yet they don't realize that their business should be all about their people, not just the money that lines their pockets.

It seems they don't care about the money they waste on turnover, which is extremely high. Not only that, but they try to do it all and have it all, which is wasteful. They should read the book Essentialism by Greg McKeown.

If they would read that book and stop trying to spread themselves too thin, focusing only on what is necessary, everyone - from the bottom all the way to the top - would be much happier. I believe McDonald's would go from being one of the worst employers to one of the best.

The Walt Disney Company The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, is an American diversified multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California.

Gratuitous leftist content is not only nauseating but also not suitable for children. It's one thing to be tolerant, and another to try to destroy society. And Disney is a children's company. They need to keep firing their CEOs until they find a good one.

They make great movies, but most of the merchandise they sell at their amusement parks is overpriced.

I would rather spend $200 on a pair of Jordans than pay $100 for admission to Disney World.

They ruin everything they buy out.

McGraw-Hill Education

This should be in the top 5 with College Board. Worst education service ever.

ABCmouse

To the person asking what ABC Mouse means, it is a kids' educational website. They have games, songs, stories, etc., for kids to learn from. It is really annoying. There are way too many commercials for it on TV.

Activision Activision Publishing, Inc. is an American video game publisher. It was founded on October 1, 1979 and was the world's first independent developer and distributor of video games for gaming consoles.
Facebook Facebook is a corporation and an online social networking service headquartered in Menlo Park, California, in the United States. Okay, sure, I use Facebook, but it's nothing like the old MySpace, and it's not like I can go back to that anymore.

Video Brinquedo

God, I thought these actual morons made Finding Jesus... how dumb am I?

Plus, I agree this company is just rude. I mean, remember The Bee Movie, Up, Kung Fu Panda, and more like that? This company will just be like: Oh! Disney and DreamWorks movies! I don't think the creators are working hard enough on them. We'll just edit them into shape so people will HATE the original!

Did they really try to make movies like that? They're horrible, horrible people.

A company that's well known for ripping off Disney movies such as Up and Ratatouille.

Nestlé

Should be #1 due to poisoning babies and encouraging child labor. Never buy from them if you can.

Frankly, Nestlé has had numerous human rights controversies, including employing child laborers and contributing to excessive plastic waste. It should be number 1.
