The Top Ten Best Code Geass Characters

Lelouch Lamperouge Lelouch Lamperouge, whose real name is Lelouch vi Britannia, is the title character and protagonist of the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Lelouch is my favourite character of all time. Even though I knew that lots of the things he did were wrong I couldn't help but root for him. You watch him develop from someone who wants revenge and to make the world better for his sister to someone who is willing to risk everything for the world and to make it a better place even though the world and the people who were on it did anything for him. Lelouch sacrificed so much but got nothing in return. I have never cried over anyone so much before I watched this show. He said some amazing quotes and he did some jaw dropping things. The one you think cares the least loves the most. Lelouch is unpredictable, spectacular, memorable, loving, selfless but he is undoubtedly flawed and he is undoubtedly my hero.

He has suffered enough for ten, a hundred people. He absolutely had a right to do what he did and yet it turned out he was still trying to fulfil his little sister's dream. And he didn't even get to enjoy the outcome of his sacrifice. An unsung hero, I suppose. The tragedy that is Lelouch's life is one that makes my heart ache.

His attitude, his arrogance, his independence, his intelligence, his natural aura of authority. It truly makes you wonder if some day you will stand before such a person, and how you will react. It is completely crazy.

His development throughout the show could have me in tears or just a cluster of emotions. I fell in love with his character the moment I actually saw him, Lelouch is such an amazing character. Although I do consider him... "depressing" but not in a bad way - I don't really know how to describe it. It's like he lies and he loses a part of himself.

C.C. C.C. is the pseudonym of a fictional character in the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion anime series by Sunrise. C.C.'s real name is never shared with the audience, despite eventually being learned by protagonist Lelouch Lamperouge.

What a legend honestly pizza girl was kind of a savage. She acts as if doesn't care about anything, but still shows she cares about Lelouch.

After all what she's been through. I would proudly like to say that C.C is the most powerful female anime character in terms of both physically & mentally. The pain and agony of being killed thousands of times. She was tortured to death by various methods, she was not loved by any, she was used by most even lelouch to a point, she wanted to be loved like true loved not obsession or forced.Which later only lelouch understand and was able to fulfill. Lelouch helped her in many ways.Lelouch & C.C is the best ship of anime universe.Too bad I don't know her real name.

Her personality and her character development are gorgeous as well as her unique bond with Lelouch

CC is like a puzzle. As you watch the show the unique responses she gives and actions she takes are totally unpredictable. I wish she was real.

Suzaku Kururugi Suzaku Kururugi is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Easily one of my favourite characters of all time. He was so complex and it was fun to watch him whenever he was on screen. He went from this kind person who was doing his best to help beat the system whilst dealing with his best to cope with killing his father to being hell bent on fulfilling his duties and trying to justify his actions despite losing himself.

I know that he was against Lelouch but their friendship was never destroyed. He accepted Lelouch's wish and sacrificed the rest of his life making that wish to come true. He is Lelouch's first and last friend, as we all know.

What is he doing in this list, we are talking about the BEST characters isn't it... Why do we care about an annoying character like this guy...i hated from the very beginning of the Code geass,... This guy is will lick tje ass of the Brittanians some day... He's just an idiotic dog of Brittanians in this series... Sorry for harsh words, but this is guy is so annoying

He did a lot of questionable things. But after all that's happened to him, you can't really blame him.

Kallen Stadtfeld Kallen Stadtfeld is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

The one purely normal person, who manages to still be completely badass, often outshining those listed higher than her on this list, even though they have powers (Suzaku's physical abilities are a power in my opinion- dodging bullets).

Hate on me all you want, but being badass does not make you a better character. Heck, if she wasn't badass, there would be NOTHING to make her a good character. She isn't even a strong female figure, just masquerading as one (her immaturity is unveiled when around Lelouch, C.C., Gino, etc.) In addition, superficial appearance doesn't act as a virtue. For example, a character may have good hair and eyes but a horrendous disposition.

How to be a badass.

Step 1: Be Kallen.

I love my Kallen. She's just badass and would of stuck with Zero til the end.

Nunnally Lamperouge

As much as I loved Lelouche and C.C. for their badass actions, looks, and personalities, I adored Nunnally's sweet innocent existence that Lelouche had tried to protect. Despite her young age, her matureness is far more supreme than 99% of the people in the whole anime series.

Shirley Fenette Shirley Fenette is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

I will disagree with a comment claiming she takes away from the plot. Shirley is a fantastic character emphasizing the stark contrast between Lelouch's two lives. She beautifully represents the simple, carefree, peaceful world Lelouch must give up to pursue his goals. (C.C. is still Best Girl)

Ehh... You can like her or think she's annoying. I'm indifferent. The problem is she takes the focus off of the narrative too often. There are too many scenes where something important is happening in the plot and then they cut to something that she's doing. It does disrupt the tone, and it's not really necessary. Those moments could have been omitted without losing any value. In fact, the story could've potentially gained a lot from it. The only real purpose she serves in the narrative is for Lelouch's character development. She obviously wasn't a priority in his life at any point in the series but having too erase her memory obviously had an impact on him. The same thing happened with her death. Although, even those moments of regret could have been written using other characters with a lot more substance. Honestly, it's all fanservice with no real depth going on here..

BEST GIRL RIGHT HERE! I will genuinely fight someone over this.

She is so sweet and loves lelouch more than anything.. she forgave him every time and I think she is the most kind-hearted and human character

Milly Ashford

Very cool character, always smiled and brought a little humor to the show. I wish she had a more prominent role than the comedic relief though

Who does not like Milly?

She's the one character that brings out a smile and laughter otta me when I watch code geass.. Thanks to her the show has comedy and liveliness.. I love her.. Madam president, you're the best.. :-* :-* :-*

Lloyd Asplund Lloyd Asplund is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Absolute legend and certified arsehole. Doesn't care about anything but his machines. His carefree attitude and loyalty to his own desires is admirable.

I love this guy. His voice is amazing, along with his large glasses! - _Lelouch_

He's one of my favorite characters of all time. I love his attitude and he's also super handsome. Having no respect for anyone really makes him a great complement to Suzaku.

I love his voice (sub and dub) and also his carefree attitude.

Jeremiah Gottwald

Orange. Morals, integrity, loyalty and somehow exactly the type of guy I'd love to have beer with.

Has got to be the coolest character in the series, I mean come on, a cyborg! What a Badass...

This guy, is just the most awesome character, so underrated. He was just so, LOYAL. Go Orange-kun!

Best character evolution in all of history! I Always loved him because I'm always cheering for the underogs but seeing him get on the top after all his failures was very satisfaying and enjoyable.

Orange is also 200% loyalty which is amazing!

My favourite character had always been changing as I watched the anime. It was always a competition between Lelouch and Suzaku. Well, that was what happened while I was watching R1.

When Rolo came into the series, I thought he was a cute kid and a nice younger brother - don't have any misunderstandings, it was what I thought before I found out that Rolo worked for the Britania. Before that, I thought that he would be a nice character and that I would like him. After that, I was proved wrong. I didn't just like him, I loved him!

His Geass ability was truly awesome, maybe even better than Lelouch's. And he received it while he was just six years old, and he was a pro at using it at that time too! "Ward of Absolute Suspension", WOW!

But do you love someone just because of their abilities? Do you? It's his personality which makes him my favourite, the deeds he did, the intentions he had, those are the things that matter, right?

All his life he had ...more - PlatinumTheHitgirl

Many hate him but there is actually no sense of reason for hating him. And 99% of hate he gets only for that Shirley killing incident.
I don't understand why people don't understand why rolo killed her without understanding (he he he...)
But it is nobody's fault. It 's just the story that has to be understood.

Rolo is the best character you can’t change my mind. He saves Lelouch so many times and he is so loyal to LeLouch.

The only bad thing he did was kill Shirley but that was only because he thought he was protecting his big brother.

Maybe the only scene in the whole show where I actually teared up a little was when Rolo died, dear god man the feels. Besides that he was a complete badass and was the one of the few people at the end (other than Jeremiah and Sayoko) who were still loyal to Lelouch

The Contenders

Rivalz Cardemonde

I loved that guy he was just so fun.

Euphemia li Britannia Euphemia li Britannia is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Of course she was a little bit to idealistic but her intentions were real and came from the bottom of her heart. Yes, she was naive but also smart as she was the first person who realized Zeros true identity. She was so young, she had become a good and wise grown-up. Also she could break the geass before her death because of her love to Suzaku. She deserved a better destiny!

She deserved so much better...I shipped her and Suzaku so much. And she was the absoloute kindest character in the whole show aside from Lelouch. And the way she treated Nina warmed my heart.

She was just... So sweet. She deserved better than what she got.

She deserved better

Cornelia li Britannia Cornelia li Britannia is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Cornelia was just so cool, great sister and leader. She didn't deserve what she got.

She is gorgeous and witty. She truly cares about her men. To me, she is amazing

She was Lelouch's first serious enemy and also his sister. But you know throughout the show she had good intentions

She will stop at nothing to stop Zero but then she found out that Zero was in fact Lelouch

Schneizel el Britannia

Such a good villain. He was smart, calculating, and confident. Enough to make anyone uneasy.

I don't see why he's so far down the list. He was after all the true "antagonist"(? ) Of the series. Cool, caring, calculating, realistic and a goddam genius. Probably the most underrated character ever.

The only character in the show who actually was at the same strategic level as lelouch (appart from maybe charles) so cold, precise and smart. And also so underrated. The perfect villain.

The charming villain. - girlcool

Kaname Ōgi

A stupid character who deserved death in the end

Underrated character. - girlcool

Gino Weinberg Gino Weinberg is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

I feel like the Knights of Round did not have enough screen time. Why is Gino my favourite character? He is easy-going, fun but at the same time serious and kind to fellow characters especially Anya and Suzaku.

Gino is a funny, nice but at the same time serious and an easy going character. I think that the Knights of Round did not get enough screen time as well as the others did.

Funny character. - girlcool

Rakshata Chawla

Honestly what a savage. All of the scientists in this show are so carefree and quirky. Her funny character always makes me laugh.

She is the mastermind behind the Guren Mk-II and is AWESOME. Besides she is so hot! And I love her carefree attitude.

She is the best minor character. And she is a genius! - ToBeThriller

She is the best!

Li Xingke

Honestly, this man is one of those characters who is so good at everything that they have to give him a shortened lifespan. He was crazy powerful and intelligent but still showed great loyalty towards his princess.

He is just...perfect

Diethard Ried

Very interesting character to watch throughout the series. Has an interesting perspective.

Super underrated character. A scene stealer. - girlcool

Ino's long lost brother.

He's such an interesting character...he doesn't seem to have any motives except be entertained by the world.

Villetta Nu Villetta Nu is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

God I hated her at first but grew to love her, not Oghi though. He's still lame.

Bad girl gone good. Plus hot

Made huge effort. Hot girl.

She is the best example for a change into a more tolerant person. I love these Japanese-Britannian couples who shows the power of love and the unnessesairyness of war, distrust und intolerance!

Kyoshiro Tohdoh

Absolute monster and terror in battle. Although his ability became seriously downplayed in the second season, he is a character necessary as the raw strength.

Such a fun villain. - girlcool

Favorate geass

Sayoko Shinozaki

The ninja caretaker is easily one of the most badass characters in this anime. Not only that but the ninja vibe makes the show way better.

HEAVILY underrated character in my opinion. Not only is she the most badass hand to hand combatant in the series but she also remained loyal to Lelouch throughout the entire series. I don't know how she is not higher to be honest

Anya Alstreim Anya Alstreim is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Anya is a very funny character because of lack of common sense. No offense. Who would pilot a knightmare into a school to find a person and create an outrage that brought highly ranked officials to go to school?

Anya is a funny character because of her lack of common sense. Who would pilot their Knightmare and create an outrage that will bring highly tanked officials to a school? Anya, of course.
Anya x Gino

Akito Hyuga Akito Hyuga is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.
Shinichirou Tamaki
Clovis la Britannia

Lol no offense but he's just there in the anime for like 1 ep

Leila Malcal Leila Malcal is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

She is one of the best characters in entire Code Geass universe. She is very intelligent, strong (though bit clumsy) and most of all a good character. It is difficult to find truly good characters (and that too at top levels of command) in Code Geass. She is highly underrated as many didn't watch Akito the Exiled. She deserves to be in top 10, even may be top 5

Interesting and lovely character. It is heartwarming to see how she cares for Akito.

Kaguya Sumeragi

I love her

Shin Kei

The perfect warrior. Smarter than Lalouch, Stronger than Kururugi

Gilbert G.P Guilford

Cecile Croomy

No love! I cannot forgive you cause what you did to table chan. HE HAD DREAMS!

She's a furniture rapist

Who the HELL put her on this list!?!?!?!

Nina is the best character. By the way, It's Table-kun, not -chan.

Charles Di Britannia

Crazy man with a crazy sex drive who would probably put all his children in the hunger games if he could. I like him

The intimidating, sympathetic yet funny and corny villain. A big scene stealer. - girlcool

Strong lad, strong opinions. He is the ultimate bad guy!

My best boy
