This is one of my favorite anime's, such a masterfully developed story that shows lot's of meaning and tugs quite a bit at the heart strings. The protagonist's are all quite admirable and all have a strong, but sad background story of how they could've changed Menma's life that day showing how many regrets you can have. Emotions of characters are really shown strongly and the Opening and Ending are amazing songs! The final scene will have you crying like a little girl so be forewarned!

4 Sakurasou No Pet Na Kanojo

"Do you like this school? I'd have to say I love it very very much. But soon everything changes. Fun things, happy things, they all change eventually. But can you still keep on loving this school after all of the happy things are gone? "

Clannad was a masterpiece of emotions and fun. All of the other animes lack Clannad's amazing storytelling abilities and the talent to switch from laughing out loud to crying. The first season is a simple haram that is almost boring to the core. The second season will have you on the floor drowning in your own tears as you attempt to find your nearest bathroom because we all know, "I can only cry in the bathroom or in Daddy's arms."

While It's mostly a happy story, there are some devastatingly sad moments. For example, when Nico is captured by the world government and the crew comes to rescue her.
