Top 10 San Francisco 49ers All Time Draft Busts

The 49ers have had their share of draft busts. Let's take a look at some of the worst draft choices in franchise history.
The Top Ten
1 Jim Druckenmiller

''MOVE ASIDE, STEVE YOUNG. THE DRUCKENMILLER EXPRESS IS COMIN’ THROUGH! '' I mean just wow you take a quarterback named Druckenmiller where they niners really that drunk in the process of that decision?

2 Lance Alworth

Okay now wait a hall of fame on the list well look at some of the other lists, and then you'll be surprised what ended up happening in that draft itself... Alworth was another guy who was picked by the 49ers, but enevr initially wanted to sign there in favor of the Chargers instead.

3 James Pace

''In just 12 career games, Pace tallied 52 carries for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Not the kind of productivity you’re hoping for from a No. 8 overall pick.''

4 Harry Babcock

''Babcock, in his three NFL seasons, did not provide that. As a tight end, Babcock managed just 16 catches for 181 yards and no touchdowns over three seasons. Again, the game was different then, but for the first overall pick in the draft to only last three years while not having even one year of average production is pretty bad.''

5 Tim Anderson

''The 49ers expected Anderson to step in and be an impact player in their defensive backfield. He was to team up with Hall of Fame cornerback Jimmy Johnson and another solid defensive back, Bruce Taylor, in the San Francisco secondary. Anderson opted to play in Canada from 1971-74. When he returned to the NFL in 1975, he was not the player the 49ers envisioned when they drafted him. Anderson lasted only one season in San Francisco and started only two games.''

6 Tom Stolhandske

''Stolhandske actually didn’t play with San Francisco until 1955, and his lack of productivity is tough to track since they didn’t track statistics the way they do now, so we don’t have tackle numbers or anything for the linebacker. He did manage an interception in 12 games, but one year and 12 games from your 10th overall pick is a bad look, and will land among the worst picks for any franchise.''

7 Ken MacAfee

''MacAfee wasn’t a rookie sensation, but he put up respectable numbers, catching 22 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown. He showed mild improvement the following season, recording 24 catches for 266 yards and four scores. In 1980, the Niners traded his rights to Minnesota but he never played a down for the Vikings.''

8 AJ Jenkins

''Jenkins was a decent receiver at Illinois his first three years, but had a big senior season, catching 90 passes for 1,276 yards and eight touchdowns. He wasn’t quite that productive with the 49ers. He played in three games, was targeted once and it didn’t get caught. During the following offseason, Jenkins was dealt to Kansas City for wide receiver Jon Baldwin. And so ends the illustrious 49ers career of Alfred Alonzo Jenkins.'' Ha ain't that truth that was an illusion type move on the part of Trent Blaake not giving some proper weapons for Kaepernick.

9 Rashaun Woods

''He was a baller and a no-brainer selection for the 49ers. Unfortunately for the 49ers, his college success didn’t translate to the NFL. In his lone NFL season, Woods hauled in just seven balls for 160 yards and a touchdown.''

10 Reuben Foster

I might be crazy, or is Reuben Foster going the path of being a big 49er bust if so he probably deserves a higher spot because he keeps pulling his off-field issues in year one of his career amounted to what looked like a steal initially into a living nightmare for John Lynch. Also I remember last year in those mock draft he was suppose to be in the top 15 projected instead fell almost outta round 1 only for the 49ers have the cuts to take some serious character concerns.
