Top Ten NFL Teams Least Likely to Make the Playoffs in the 2020 Season

While we have looked at the teams with the best chance for postseason berths, we still have yet to look at those who will probably not make it. Here, we are looking at the top ten NFL teams least likely to make the playoffs in the 2020 season.

The Top Ten

Jacksonville Jaguars The Jacksonville Jaguars are an American professional football franchise based in Jacksonville, Florida.

Right now, the Jaguars just don't look like a contending team at all, a far cry from what they were just a few seasons ago. Most of their starting defense from 2017 is gone, and Yannick Ngakoue is forcing his way out. The offense may have some life under Gardner Minshew, but don't expect much else beyond that. The only highlight of this team is special teams, but otherwise, they are a bad team.

Cincinnati Bengals The Cincinnati Bengals are a professional American football franchise based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Bengals currently compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference North division.

Even though the Bengals had a pretty good offseason, they still will probably not make the playoffs. First year quarterbacks in general usually struggle, and Joe Burrow will be no exception to that. I do expect them to be better than 2-14 this season, but I still see a losing record and no playoffs.

Washington Redskins The Washington NFL team are a professional American football team based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. In 2020, Washington after 87 years got rid of the Redskins trademark due do to it being labeled racist to native culture. It is unknown what name they will be given at this time.

They added the best player in the draft in Chase Young, which makes their defense something to watch. Despite the good-looking defense though, the offense is the question for the Redskins. They are really banking on Dwayne Haskins to make a second year leap, this time under his second head coach in Ron Rivera. Their new head coach Rivera fielded the dominant Panthers offense of 2015, so he can transform this team. But they are just so inconsistent, and they still don't look like a playoff team yet. Maybe next year for Washington.

Chicago Bears The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team in Chicago, Illinois. The Bears compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference North division.
New York Giants The New York Giants are a professional American football team located in the New York metropolitan area.

The Giants, like their division rival Redskins, have a second year quarterback who they want to make a leap, and a first year head coach in Joe Judge. The Giants also added some talent this offseason, getting Andrew Thomas in the first round to eventually replace Nate Solder. Still, the defense is not looking great, but the offense looks decent, with Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, and Darius Slayton being a good group of young players. I don't see them making the postseason this season.

Detroit Lions The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team based in Detroit, Michigan. The Lions compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference North division. ...read more.

They have also had a good offseason, but they're the Lions, so they'll somehow screw up. Matt Patricia should have been fired after the 2019 season, but now he heads into his third season as coach, around him many former Patriots players. Yep, the Lions have essentially turned into the Midwest Patriots. Whether that strategy will work out is to be seen, but for now, they are still the basement dwellers of the NFC North.

I mean the only thing they did is give a bigger head ache to Kirk and Rodgers and I do not think Swift will have a huge impact on any if the NFC north teams all who have good defensive lineman

New York Jets The New York Jets are a professional American football team located in the New York metropolitan area.

They had a decent record in 2019, at 7-9, but they were worse than their record says. It's make or break for Adam Gase in his second season as Jets head coach, and he has talent for his cause. Can Sam Darnold get on track with his new wide receivers, and can the defense stay healthy? Can the offensive line hold up, and can the kicker position finally become stable with Sam Ficken kicking? This team has a lot of questions, and I don't see a playoff team here.

Carolina Panthers The Carolina Panthers are a professional American football team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, that competes in the National Football League.

Honestly, in a loaded NFC South, the Panthers are the one team nobody pays attention to, and for good reason. They just don't look good, even with Christian McCaffery and Teddy Bridgewater highlighting the offense. The finished last in the NFC South in 2019, so expect the same results again, and missing the playoffs for the third season in a row.

Yeah if anything a team like Jacksonville, Washington or New England look like teams that could use Trevor Lawrence.

New England Patriots The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston region. New England Patriots are one of the few teams to have 5+ wins in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, with how the roster looks now. It leans more of they won't make the playoffs. Hard to believe in the combination of Brian Hoyer/Jason Stidham. Yeah its Belichick, but this could be the first time since 2000 the team could have a losing record.

Miami Dolphins The Miami Dolphins are a professional American football franchise located in the Miami metropolitan area.

The Dolphins probably won't be terrible this season, but they won't be great either. They absolutely loaded on talent in free agency and the draft, most notably Tua Tagovailoa, the quarterback of the future. They look like a different team from what they were last season. Nevertheless, Tua might not start right away, and who knows if their draft picks and free agent signings will have the impacts Miami wants them to. I see another year of no playoffs in Miami, but things are starting to look up for them.

The Contenders

Los Angeles Rams The Los Angeles Rams are a professional American football team based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
Cleveland Browns The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Browns compete in the National Football League as a member team of the American Football Conference North division. ...read more.

The Browns failed to deliver on their hype last season, so expect another failure from the most incompetent franchise in the NFL. Even with as much talent as they have on both sides of the ball, they still somehow screw it up. Baker Mayfield needs to step up in a critical third season, and his has so many weapons at his disposal, and a quality offensive line at last. Can first year head coach Kevin Stefanski get them to the promised land this season. I say no for now.

Los Angeles Chargers The San Diego Chargers are a professional American football team based in San Diego, California. The Chargers compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference West division.
Las Vegas Raiders

The team in a new city, the Raiders look to want to start fresh in a new stadium. They stocked up on talent in the offseason, but this team still has a few questions about it. In the first year in Las Vegas, I don't see them making the playoffs, especially with three better teams around them in the AFC West.

Philadelphia Eagles The Philadelphia Eagles are a professional football franchise based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Eagles compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference East division.
Houston Texans The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston, Texas. The team competes in the National Football League as a member club of the American Football Conference South division.
