Top Ten Reasons Why It Sucks to Be 12

Sure, I have difficulties with being 12, but I hardly think being 13 would be any better.
The Top Ten
1 "Sorry, you must be at least 13 to use [website]"

This sucks! I'm 13 now finally, but for real, when I was 12, literally every website says, "You need to be 13." Twelve-year-olds act exactly or almost like teenagers. Better than needing to be 18, I guess.

Good thing I'm turning 14 this year. Oh, and by the way, you could always use a fake age on these sorts of sites.

2 Older kids bully you

Dear older sisters: We get it. You are now a teenager and get Facebook. Good for you. That is still not an excuse to boss us around.

"Haha I'm born in 2005-2006. I am superior to the uncultured swines who are born in 2007-2009."

Shut up. Your ageist attitude is no better than the apparent immaturity in those born between 2007 and 2009.

3 "Please enter your parent's email address"

Use your own email. Parents delete these messages without reading them.

4 No going to see a PG-13 movie by yourself

It makes no difference apparently. Prior to my teenhood, I'd watched all genres of media aimed at different demographics and audiences. I find this restrictive limitation of freedom purposeless. If the film or movie had hyper-realistic gore and blood, that is understandable, but if not, why place the restriction in the first place?

I think if someone is still 12 but completely understands that scenes in movies and lyrics in songs shouldn't be taken too seriously, they should be allowed to watch or listen to whatever they want.

5 The librarian won't let (or at least disapproves of letting) you get a teen/young adult/adult book.
6 You aren't viewed as mature, responsible, or trustworthy

I can't even have social media because my dad thinks I'm not responsible.

7 People don't take you seriously

People hardly ever take you seriously when you're a kid. I'm sick of it.

8 People still call you a little kid
9 You're going through puberty
10 Adults still talk about you in front of you.

11 You still have to order from the kid's menu at restaurants

Dude, I'm almost 20. My dad wouldn't let me order from the Adult's menu until I turned 13.

12 You can't drive

I have to take my bike or roller blades everywhere.

13 You are viewed as a child

That's because you still are one.

14 Everyone mistakes your age.
15 You're not a teen
16 You have to go to school
17 Everyone uses 12 as an insult
18 You have to have adult supervision for everything

I'm old enough now. I don't need supervision for anything.

19 You're in grade 6
20 People see all of you as extremely immature, irresponsible and wild

This sadly doesn't change until you turn 16 or so.

21 You're still a kid
22 You can't have sex
23 You can't date
24 You can't go out in the night
25 You get depressed
