Top 10 Best Types of Cars
The car has been with us for over 100 years now. Since then, there have been various versions of cars for different needs (speed, looks, style, practicality, comfort, etc.). This list is to determine the best type of car.
-
Hypercar
These cars are designed to show off, turn heads, and be as flamboyant as possible. Examples include the Bugatti Veyron, McLaren F1, Koenigsegg Agera R, and my personal favorite, the Hennessey Venom GT.
Koenigsegg Agera R? Yes, please! My all-time favorite car in existence.
-
Supercar
Supercars are designed to be fast driver's cars, such as the Audi R8, Lexus LFA, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 458, and McLaren MP4-12C.
-
Track Day Car
These cars are purely designed for setting track records. While they are road legal, it's not recommended. My favorite cars are the Lotus 2-Eleven, KTM X-BOW, Caterham Seven, and Ariel Atom.
My favorite car is the Lotus. It has the best and coolest design ever.
-
Sports Car
These are pure driver's cars, known for their excellent handling. Examples include the Lotus Exige, Porsche Cayman, various TVRs, Wiesmann, and the Morgan Aero 8.
The Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2-liter OTS or FHC. The greatest British car, the greatest sports car, and the most beautiful car ever designed.
-
Muscle Car
Muscle cars are designed to be loud and bold. My favorites include the Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang, Plymouth 'Cuda, and Roadrunner.
Yeah! Big, flashy, and loud - just what I like.
-
Grand Tourer
It's the perfect car! It drives you beyond the average speed of a firm's equivalent sports 2-seater, offers room for your family, a big dog, and a large box, and is ideal for long-distance travel! I would buy a Ferrari FF for all these uses. It's perfect for everything!
GT cars are designed for long distances at high speeds. Examples include the Ferrari California, Bentley Continental GT, Maserati GranTurismo, and my favorite, the Aston Martin DBS.
-
Coupe
Generally, coupes have two doors (except for models like the Mercedes CLS) and are designed for their looks. Examples include the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, BMW M3 Coupe, and Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe.
-
Convertible
There are convertibles for everyone today, from affordable options (3 Series, Astra) to sports cars (Boxster, Elise) and high-end models (DBS, R8, 911, Bentley Continental).
#1 or not, an undisputed truth is that, on a sunny day, every other driver secretly wishes they were the person in the convertible.
-
Sedan
Sedans are mainly designed for practicality, but some models are also built for speed and fun, such as the BMW M3, Mercedes C63 AMG, and Audi RS5.
I have a 2014 Honda Accord EX-L, and it is very functional and a great car to drive.
A big sport sedan is my favorite: the Caprice SS.

Sports 4x4
A fast 4x4 that feels like a sports car and can handle tough terrain too! My favorites in this category are the Range Rover Sport, the Porsche Cayenne GTS, and the Maserati Kubang.
-
Hot Hatchback
Many experienced supercar owners have switched to this type of car. They are practical, easy to use, and comfortable. Thanks to its hatchback design, visibility is much better, allowing you to park more easily compared to supercars. Since it's less flashy than a supercar, you also get more privacy and convenience. The smaller performance capacity means you can push the car's limits more on public roads and tight curves.
Hot hatches are designed to be all things to all drivers - practical, affordable, spacious, and fun to drive. Examples include the VW GTI, Ford Focus ST, Opel Astra OPC, and Renault Megane 225.
